Notice for the Entrance Exam

1. General Information
 Program Name:- MSc in Telecommunication Engineering
 Tracks/Stream:- 1) Telecom Network Engineering (TNE)
2) Telecom Information System (TIS)
 Separate exams will be administered for each track
 The questions will be general aptitude type, multiple choice-based of 60 questions,
and require fundamental understanding in the track of application than being
rigorous;
 The time allocated for the exam (both tracks) is 90 minutes (1½ hours)
 In principle no calculator and extra paper are required. Relevant papers will be
provided in the exam room
 All employees should carry their ethio ID card to enter the exam room (mandatory)
2. Telecom Network Engineering (TNE)
The Network Engineering track questions cover:
 General aptitude questions
 Mathematics: Sets, Logic, Linear Algebra, Trigonometry, Basic Calculus
 Electrical Engineering basics:
 Basic electrical circuits
 Signals and Linear Systems
 Transforms
 Electromagnetic fields
 Digital communication basics
 Data communication and computer networks
3. Telecom Information System (TIS)
The Information System track questions cover:
 General aptitude questions
 Mathematics: Sets, Logic, Basic calculus
 Introduction to computer science
 Programming: structural programming (C++) and object oriented programming
(Java)
 Software Engineering
 Relational Database
 Operating systems
 Data communication and computer networks
 Computer and network security
4. Exam Date & Place
Exam Date:- Saturday, 1st April, 2017
Exam Start Time:- 9:00am (morning 3:00 local time)
Exam Place:- Addis Ababa Institute of Technology-AAiT (5 kilo)
