was a Hungarian countess of the Báthory family.

This family is remembered for its defense against the Ottomans.
She is famous as a serial killer in Hungarian and Slovak history
and is remembered as the Bloody Woman

WERE BEING HELD WAITING TO BE KILLED. THEN, IN THE
BASEMENT, MORE THAN 50 BODIES WERE FOUND, MOST OF
WHICH HAD BEGUN TO DECOMPOSE.

OF ELIZABETH BATHORY IN 1611. THE NAMES WERE
OBTAINED BASED ON REPORTS FROM VARIOUS
PARTIES. RANGING FROM PEASANT FAMILIES TO
NOBLES. ELIZABETH HERSELF WAS NEVER BROUGHT
TO COURT TO BE TRIED DIRECTLY. ONLY FOUR OF HIS
SERVANTS WERE TRIED AND THEN SENTENCED TO
DEATH. THE KING OF HUNGARY ORDERED ELIZABETH
CONFINED TO HER ROOM AT CACHTICE PALACE FOR
THE REST OF HER LIFE. THE WORKERS WERE THEN
MOBILIZED TO CLOSE ALL THE DOORS AND
WINDOWS OF ELIZABETH'S BEDROOM WITH WALLS,
LEAVING ONLY A SMALL HOLE USED TO PUT FOOD

GUARD SAW THE FOOD SERVED TO ELIZABETH
UNTOUCHED FOR A DAY. THE GUARD THEN PEEKED
IN AND SAW THE COUNTESS FACE DOWN WITH HER
FACE ON THE FLOOR. ELIZABETH 'THE BLOOD
COUNTESS' BÁTHORY DIED AGED 54 ON 21 AUGUST
1614.
