A. Core Subject Description

Evolution of our understanding of matter, motion, electricity, magnetism, light, and
the universe from ancient times to the present; applications of physics and chemistry
concepts in contexts such as atmospheric phenomena, cosmology, astronomy, vision,
medical instrumentation, space technology, drugs, sources of energy, pollution and
recycling, fitness and health, and cosmetics.

B. Objectives/Aims
 To promote knowledge and skills in scientific inquiry and problem solving;
 To construct and apply scientific and technological knowledge;
 To understand the nature of science and its relationships to technology, society
and the environment;
 To equip learners with investigating skills relating to physical and chemical
phenomena; and
 To prepare learners for future learning.
