Project Name: Studio Construction Project

Synopsis: Studio Construction Project

This subject tests your understanding of how a recording studio is designed and constructed.

Budget: Rs 25,00,000/-. You need to utilize the entire budget for the project. The only margin
will be 10%.
Spce: Room Dimension: 30ft x 35 ft (1050 Sq.Ft.)

Project Tasks: In order to make it simpler for you to understand, the project has been divided
into tasks. This also helps you in understanding the marking criteria for your exam.

Deliverables: Studio Design Drawings, Budget sheet on excel, Details of products used and a
brief summary wherever you find relevant ( applies for all Tasks below)

Scenario 
 
You have been commissioned by a production house to build their latest studio. You will
oversee & be involved in the project from designing to execution & delivery. Your
responsibilities include:
● Brief about the space for a studio, its strengths and weaknesses.
● Designing and concept development of the layout, electrical drawings and aesthetics.
● Measurements & Tests that you will make and important parameters involved.
● Precautions used to overcome common mistakes.

Task 1: Studio Design & Layout [25 marks]

● Studio Design with a Budget.

● Drawings and Designs Plans showing the Layouts.

Task 2: Electrical Load Distribution, Electric Points and Layouts [15 Marks]
 

● Power Distribution and Safety Features installations in Studios.

● Circuitry and Lighting.
● Auxiliary or Backup Power Setup.
 ● Types of Lighting
● Consumer Market for Lighting
● Placement of switch points
● Installation of Electrical Points and Placements

Task 3: Studio Isolation [25 Marks]

● Booth Isolation
● Choosing Sound Proofing Material
● Studio Floor and Doors
● Air Lock Windows

Task 4: Acoustic Treatment [25 Marks]

● Installation of Panels of a different kind

● Materials
● Placements

Task 5: Delivery and Submission [5 Marks]

● DVD containing your drawings and all necessary documentation.

● Softcopy for inpods submissions.

Guidelines:

1. Create a project document for all the tasks.

2. Make sure you mention the product dimensions, images and as much information as
possible
3. Ensure budgets are properly utilized
4. Submit the project within the timeline.
5. Consult before printing. (Take approval from the softcopy)
6. Extension of submission dates shall not be entertained under any circumstances.

Grading criteria:

Tasks Completion 80%

Timely Delivery 20%
