Job Search Expectations

• Internship and Job Opportunities: Opportunities are posted on your NYU Stern Career
Account and company websites. There are many career switchers who go into brand
management/marketing, and many big firms have a campus presence. Attend as many
events as you can and leverage Stern’s networking resources to make connections.

• Leverage conferences: Many of the big CPG firms recruit at diversity events that are open
to all students. Get a head start on the competition by making connections there.

• Combine the creative and analytical: You will be expected to demonstrate both your
creative and analytical abilities, often simultaneously. Loving a brand and knowing the
numbers behind it are two very different things.
