 Past Simple Tense
Regular Verbs

We add : [ d / ed / ied ] to the regular

verbs in sentences in the past
If the last letter is (y) we remove it and add
(ied) if the letter before it is not a vowel
We double the last letter and add (ed) if the
last letter is a consonant letter

When the sentence is in the negative

form we don’t add [ d / ed / ied ] to
the regular verbs that come after
(didn’t).
