DEWA 19 BAND

Dewa 19 is one of the legendary Indonesian bands that was famous in the 90s era. Dewa was
originally formed by Ahmad Dhani (keyboards, vocals), Erwin Prasetya (bass), Wawan Juniarso
(drums) and Andra Junaidi (guitar) in 1986 in Surabaya.

Dewa 19 then moved to Jakarta to release their first album entitled "Dewa 19" (1992). With singles
such as "Kangen", Dewa managed to hit the country's music scene by bringing home awards from
the 1993 BASF Award in the Best Newcomer category and 1993 Best Selling Album.

Dewa 19 when later released a new album entitled "Laskar Cinta" (2004). Dewa 19's popularity
continues to skyrocket internationally.The band also had the opportunity to fill in the soundtrack of
the film "Kamulah Satu-Satunya" (2007).

Dewa 19 had a long hiatus in 2007 due to the busyness of its members. Each member is busy with
his new band project such as Ahmad Dhani with The Rock, Andra with Andra and The BackBone and
Yuke with his new band Number One. Meanwhile, Once chose to pursue a solo career.

Even so, Dewa 19 had released the singles "Perempuan Paling Cantik Di Negeriku Indonesia" (2008)
and "Bukan Cinta Manusia Biasa" (2009). Unfortunately, this did not make Dewa 19 back solid as
before. Dewa 19 then decided to disband in 2011 after 25 years of existence. Throughout his career
Dewa 19 has released 8 albums.

Although they have disbanded, Dewa 19 held a reunion concert, this concert was actually Ari Lasso's
solo tour, entitled "Sang Dewa Cinta-nya" (2013). However, to satisfy the Baladewa (as Dewa fans),
Ari Lasso then invited other members of the Dewa 19 band back.

The song that I like from this band is the song "Separuh Nafas".
