EXPLORE CARD

Active Transport

Analyzing the Active Transport Processes !

Perform the experiment and Complete the table below

Objective:

Observe and Analyze how ATP energy is used to move substances across the
cell membrane from an area of lower concentration to an area of higher
concentration

Science Concepts:

1. Cell– are the basic building blocks of all living things.

2. Cell Membrane - also called the plasma membrane, is found in all cells
and separates the interior of the cell from the outside environment. The cell
membrane consists of a lipid bi layer that is semipermeable. The cell
membrane regulates the transport of materials entering and exiting the cell.

Procedure:

1. Analyze the flash cards ;

2. Record your data and observation by completing the table

3. Answer the Inquiry Questions

4. You are given 10 minutes to do the experiment
