II. Installation procedures 5. Remove the MFBS Board Assy (three screws).

1. Turn off the machine and unplug the power cord

from the power outlet.
2. Remove the Upper Rear Cover from the machine
(three screws).
Note:
When removing this cover, push the angle detect-
ing lever of the Reverse Automatic Document
Feeder at the same time.

6. Insert the MEM board into the slot (CN5) on the

MFBS board.
Note:
• Do not touch the electric connection edge of the
board with bare hands.
• Confirm the mounting direction (notch) of the
add-on board all the way until a click is heard.

3. Remove the Hookup Harness of the machine

from the one wiring saddle and unplug the con-
nector of the MFBS Board. ➀

7. Reinstall the MFBS board that has been removed

in step 5 (three screws).

4. Slide the Upper Right Cover of the machine to the

right and remove it.
