Branches of Physics: Bowl-A-Word

Physics is the natural science that studies matter, its motion and behavior through space
and time, and the related concepts of energy and force.

There are many branches of physics. This worksheet will introduce you to a handful
of these branches.

Instructions:

Given the pattern of letters arranged like bowling pins in the left column of the table
below, unscramble the letters to form the “Strike Word” (second column) which will give the
name of a field of specialization in physics. The first letter of the Strike Word is always the
letter of the headpin (letter in bold face).

Give a brief description of the coverage and scope of that particular field of physics in
the third column.

In the fourth column, one example is given showing the technology or science
application of that field of physics; for the second example, give your own.
