This Instructional Material is entitled “Words Relay” passing words to one another.

It seems that it is already familiar to us this words, Words Relay. This is one of those activity children
wish in their classes. In the Word Relay game, this is fast-paced game that students really like. It takes a
little bit of prep work, but you can reuse it over and over, so I think it’s worth it. It is very helpful to the
children to enhance their skills in reading, speaking, listening, memorization and writing.

What are the materials used?

 Recycle box
 Card board
 color paper
 plastic covers
 marker

How to Prepared the Words Relay Game?

 cut a ¼ card board into 15 pieces.


 And, paste a colored paper of each.
 Using markers, write the vocabulary words on the 15 pieces of flashcards.
 After that, cover it using a plastic cover.
 use recycled box of juice to where the vocabulary words will put.
 And, paste something vocabulary words on the surrounding of the box as a design of it.
 And, also covered it using plastic cover.

How to play?

 First, group the class into two group.


 Each group will receive a box with flashcards.
 The last member will be holding the box and will read the vocabulary words written on the
flashcards.
 And he/she relay the words to the next member through whispering, the same with the next
member until it ends to the first member in front.
 The first member will write the words she/he received in a correct spelling on the blackboard.
 Whoever the group will write the most correctly spelled words will win on the game.
What are Macro skills will be enhance and develop through the game?

 A child’s reading ability can be tested on the words he will relay.


 While the child whispering the word. His listening and memorization skills are developed. And
this is also where a child’s hearing can be tested.
 Also. In speaking how a child whispers the word he receives to also be relayed to a member. It
also includes the ability to spell and write the words he will receive.
 The ability to spell words is very testable in this game.
