JOB SCOPE: WAITER AND WAITRESS

Ensuring that beverages prepared and served is of standard quality and leaves a lasting impression to
the guests. To provide professional, efficient and responsible bar service as required on standards and
procedures by utilizing technical and social skills to enhance customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Good understanding of people and has a genuine interest in food and beverage.

 Sound knowledge of beverage menu contents.

 Thorough knowledge of the establishment’s facilities and personnel involved.

 Constant standard of performance whether the operation is busy or not.

 Strives to develop self-esteem which results in a friendly, relaxed attitude with guests.

 Ensure a clean, smart appearance at all times.

 Acquaint with all electrical and mechanical equipment and also observe all safety precautions
whilst using such equipment.

 Clear understanding of company handbook and the regulations stated within.

 Ensure that mise-en-plus is complete prior to service.

 Receive and seat the guests in courteous manner.

 Takes orders.

 Engage in suggestive selling.

 Serve the food and beverage ordered by the guests to the correct standards of service.

 Clear tables and re-set the equipment as necessary.

 Present the bill to the guest.

 Practise necessary HACCP measures in food and beverage handling.

 Ensure all equipment in the venue is used in such a manner as to prevent damage and prolong its
usage.

 Ensure the stocking and clearing of beverage preparation stations is adhered to strictly.

 Capable of handling mishaps, e.g. spilling of water, wine or food; and reports to the management
anything he/she cannot handle alone.

 Adhere to all rules and regulations set by the management while on duty.

 Work as a team and offer help when needed.

 Complete daily beverage stock check, inventory and requisition at the end of the day.

 Ensure the accuracy of the stock-pick-up against the requisition form.


 Able to handle all telephone calls and reservations.

SKILLS AND ATTITUDE REQUIRED:

 Product and service knowledge of Food and Beverage.

 Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

 Good inter-personal skills.

 A team player.

 Understand occupational Health and Safety standards.

 Food handling certification.
