    Ball Valve

    Ball valves are rotary motion actuated valves. This type of valve is ideally
    suited for open/close applications and can be used for low to very high flow
    rate systems.

    ADVANTAGES
    Fast acting.

    Allows flow in either direction.

    Seats very well and is not prone to leakage.

    Well suited for direct local manual operation.

    Cheapest of all the common valve types.

    Low maintenance costs.

    Low manufacturing cost.

    Simple design.

    DISADVANTAGES

    Not suitable for flow control (throttling).

    Rarely used in high temperature systems.
