    Diaphragm Valve

    Diaphragm valves are linear motion valves used for start-stop and throttling
    applications. The two most common types of diaphragm valve are the weir and
    straight through types.
    The diaphragm disc is usually manufactured from a flexible, but durable
    material. A compressor is installed on the upper side of the diaphragm. The
    compressor can be lowered to close the valve or raised to open the valve.

    ADVANTAGES

    Polymer based construction materials make the valve well suited to corrosive
    environment applications.

    Leakage is uncommon due to the valve's few parts and low number of seals.

    Polymer based construction materials are less chemically reactive than their metal counterparts.

    The valve has a fast response time with reliable sealing.

    DISADVANTAGES

    Diaphragm valves are rarely suitable for high temperature applications as the polymer
    based materials are prone to cracking and embrittlement.
