(ADDITIONAL TASKS)

1. “Only diamond can scratch diamond”

-Diamonds happen to be the hardest known mineral or gem on the planet. Diamonds are ranked
10 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness; all other minerals are ranked 9 or below. Anything with a
hardness below that of a diamond cannot scratch a diamond. That means only a diamond can
scratch a diamond. Just like in life, you cannot defeat someone far stronger than you. No matter
how much we try to beat them, they still win. No matter how much we try to overcome them,
we still lose. No matter how much we scratch them, nothing happens. Hence, we have to
improve ourselves to be the hardest known mineral on the planet.

2. “A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man be perfected without trials”
-Gems are polished to be valuable like how a man is trained to be usable. A gem nor a man has a
value at the beginning. Hence, we are polished to improve our flaws and imperfections. Every
adversity in life is part of our journey for us to be polished. Those times that we feel depressed
that we just sit in the corner of the room and cry silently alone. It must be hard but we have to
be resilient and trust the process because the conflict is the only way to reach the climax and
those trials are the only way in order for us to become a better version of ourselves.
