Many efforts have been taken in this industrial attachment. However, it would not have been
possible without the kind support and help of many individuals and organization. I will
extend my sincere thanks to them for their wonderful support and encouragement.

 CHAPTER ONE
1.0 INTRODUCTION
Industrial Attachment was introduced to inspire the students with practical and technical
skills, as a partial fulfilment for the award of a degree certificate and to introduce the students
into the working field environment.
The training time allows the students to link the theoretical principles learnt in the higher
learning institutions and the real life professional and technical application.
It gives the students the practical skills and the work environment philosophy, to use their
skills and principles learned in class to serve the institutions and the society in general.
Due to the above reasons, Takoradi Technical University organized a 12 weeks training in
any institution of students’ choice which matches or fall alignment with their course of study
to give every student an opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge achieved during the
course of study and to acquire new skills in managing relationship and carrying out the jobs
assigned.
This is the reason why I joined Takoradi Technical University, to be trained in order to get
practical skills and be well groomed for the outside world.

1.1 PURPOSE
The industrial attachment program fulfils part of the requirement for the award of a Degree in
Information Technology in Takoradi Technical University. This report therefore provides a
summary of the activities and duties carried out, as well as experience gained during my
attachment period at TRENDY PIXELS LAB.

1.2 TRENDY PIXELS LAB

Trendy pixels lab is a technology & printing institution . The institution has a platform for
teaching various information technology skills.They perform various printing activities,
scanning, designing of banners and all basic stuffs.its a sole proprietorship workhub and
perform an exceptional work with every work it does.

1.2.1 History of trendy pixels lab.
Trendy pixels lab is generally a printing press which was founded around 2018 by Mr
Nathaniel Addo. They perform all the basic printing activities.its one the main workshop's
rendering services to the people of Kasoa Ofaakor and it's environs.

1.2.2 Main Functions

 Majors in information sharing and communication skills: As part of the working
environment, communication is a very an essential key in the world of technology.
Trendy pixels lab has a small team who teach how to communicate in a field of work
being it with superiors or co-workers

 The main purpose of this company is to serve all printing related activities to
everyone in the shortest possible time at great quality.

1.2.3 Mission
The primary aim of the organization is to provide mentoring services to and facilitate
networking between young internship or workers who work in or with the people of Kasoa. It
aims at promoting development cooperation as well as education and professional education,
including the support of students, as well as the personal development of young people.
Special attention is paid to the promotion of the equality of women and men in their
professional development and education.its mission continues to work and serve the people
of Kasoa the basic services of printing.

1.2.4 Vision
Trendy pixels lab is evolving into a more holistic organization, to develop a functional
ecosystem that can serve as an effective businesses in their printing related activities, as well
as assist in the resolution of major issues in various surrounding regions.

2.0 Activities at Work
During the period of attachment, I essentially worked on three projects; A sample
website for the company, the using of Photoshop to make their designs and other related
printing press activities.

2.1 Typing and Printing.

The major activities carried out at trendy pixels lab is mostly typing and printing and
it’s almost 70 percent of the purpose of the company.

2.1.1 Scanning and lamination.

We performed scanning and lamination of documents both in major and small
batches.

2.3 Other Activities

1. Designing of the company banners
I was solely made to use the company colours to design banners and logos for the
company. Using photoshop was a bit hard for me because I had basic knowledge on
it. But for coral draw it was very easy but wasn’t preferred by the company.

CHAPTER THREE
Contribution to the Organization
As an intern, the following was my contributions

 I typed any documents given to my by my industry based supervisor with little or no

mistakes.

 I reduced the workload of the organization.
 I had basic knowledge on Photoshop so I helped them in designing some of their
logos and some important banners during their conference programs.
 Due to the nature of the company or it’s small nature I was involved in most of the
activities carried out there and made things faster and better than before in relation to
services provided.
 I performed basic task like cleaning and preparing the places for work to begin which
I believe made work over there run smoothly.

 CHAPTER FOUR
Many were the challenges I faced during the attachment period.

First was lack of materials and equipment’s which will aid me in partaking in the various
activities going on there. Most activities carried out there required a high-end PC,good
internet connectivity and enough experience. Experience was a problem for me because I am
very good in adapting to a new environment and likes competition very much. The lack of a
high-end PC and slow internet connectivity made it very hard for me to adapt to their ways of
working.

Also, due to the location of my attachment, finding suitable and balanced diet was difficult.
Most of the time, I had just pie for lunch.The cost of food over there was very high because it
was in a remote area with few public places. The location of the place was almost 10km from
my place of rest. Before I would get to the work place I was already exhausted because of
walking. It was hard times at home so I had to go on foot both in and out. But as we say “till
it’s done there’s no rest” so I managed to make it there every single day.

All these challenges have helped me gain valuable work experience and real-life experience.
It has really helped me become a better programmer and a good coworker.

SKILLS ACQUIRED
I acquired the following skills:

 Proficiency in typing faster.

I was able to increase my typing skills and accuracy to suite working levels.
 Proficiency in using Microsoft office.
After a short I was able to work my way around Microsoft office suite very well due
to constant practice and using of the desktop.
 Harnessing good interpersonal relationship with workmates and supervisors
 Orientation to a company working structure.
 Sharpening my skills on Photoshop.
Photoshop is the most widely used editing software in the world so I developing my
skills in it was very good for me and believe my career ahead.
 Developing good and friendly work ethics
 Harnessing a good communication ability

 CHAPTER SIX
COMMENTS
Searching for a company to do attachment is a very crucial issue for students who
must complete industrial attachment as an obligation towards completion of school. It
is a first step for a student to enter into the corporate world. Naturally, some students
get worried and anxious as to whether any company or organization will take them or
not. I also panicked. As time passed by, I realized that the process is very simple only
if I had some guidelines. Therefore, I want to humbly add few suggestions from my
experience with a hope that it would help students who are planning to do internship
in the near future.

• To learn more effectively, the student must prioritize an organization with

friendly office environment. For example, internship is the time to learn work,
if the organization is not work friendly then it might pressurize the student
psychologically leading to drop their confidence in the organization and also
to be a successful professional, the student must be punctual to serve as a good
working manner.
• Most of the time, some students depend on relatives or personal connections
for having an Industrial Attachment. However, searching an organization for
attachment is like a trial session of searching jobs as an individual may have to
look for job in future by oneself. Although having a personal connection for
getting an attachment may be a benefit for a certain time, however depending
on others is sometimes uncertain and insecure.

RECOMMENDATIONS
7.1 To Takoradi Technical University Industrial Liaison
I will commend you for the wonderful job done to aid students in this era of difficult in our
First industrial attachment program. We faced some problems because of some slight
misunderstanding and believe because it was our first time.
I humbly suggest that a list of organizations who will take level 100’s for attachment
should be made known to students who are planning to do attachment in the near
future so as to stop the struggles and pains students go through before securing places
for their attachment. I will also suggest that the types of companies that’s allowed for
every student to have their internship there to be explained very well because most
students did it in areas that did not match their course of study which I believe was
just a waste of time but because they did not have any idea on it they proceeded any
ways.

CONCLUSION

The Industrial Attachment as a two-credit hour course is to provide a real-life

experience and exposure to the student. The Industrial Attachment has aided me to
have an in-depth knowledge about the practical problem solving in the corporate
world. I have been enlightened on the application of theories in real life situations.
Trendy pixels lab offered me the opportunity to learn and develop myself in many
areas. I also had the opportunity to learn more about my self-potentials and abilities,
getting connected and a developing professional network. I gained a lot of experience,
especially in the web development aspect.
I have learnt to work in a business organization and apply my knowledge into
practice. I am very grateful to the TPL team for having me there to develop my skills.
