INT.

DAHLIA’S BEDROOM - MORNING

The film opens on an EXTREME CLOSE UP of the text CODE RED

written with a red marker. The camera zooms out and an
alarm can be heard.

DAHLIA slowly wakes up and makes a feeble attempt at

turning off the alarm, simply putting it face down.

DAHLIA walks up to the calendar, picks up a red marker

from the desk but hesitates after seeing the date. A
closeup shot focuses on DAHLIA’s nervous expression.

DAHLIA crosses out today’s date with the red marker.

MONTAGE - MORNING

INT. DAHLIA’S BEDROOM

- DAHLIA makes her bed and flattens the sheets

- DAHLIA opens the curtains

- DAHLIA waters her plant

INT. BATHROOM

- DAHLIA brushes her teeth

- DAHLIA washes her face

- DAHLIA takes her medicine

- DAHLIA picks up her razor to shave

INT. HALLWAY

- DAHLIA fills the food bowl belonging to the family cat,

SMOKEY.

INT. DAHLIA’S BEDROOM - LATER - MONTAGE

DAHLIA tries on multiple outfits, being displeased with

all of them. She also applies makeup, including lipstick,
which she wipes off and reapplies several times.

END MONTAGE

She neatens her eyebrows with a brush but becomes startled

by a loud noise. The family cat, SMOKEY, has knocked over
various objects onto the ground.

DAHLIA
(angrily)
Get out!

INT. DAHLIA’S BEDROOM - DAY

DAHLIA has been gorging herself on chocolates ignoring

SMOKEY’s attempts to enter the room. He can be heard
meowing and scratching DAHLIA’s locked door. CYNTHIA,
DAHLIA’s little sister, is very protective of SMOKEY and
desperately asks DAHLIA to let him in.

CYNTHIA
(from outside DAHLIA’s
room)
Let Smokey in! He wants to come
in!

DAHLIA
(frustratedly)

I’m literally eating chocolate,

I can’t! If I let him in I’m
gonna kill him!

CYNTHIA
(stubbornly)

So?

DAHLIA leans forward and catches a glimpse of herself in

the mirror. Disgusted by what she sees, she frantically
starts rubbing her face and wiping the makeup off. When
she finally stops, an EXTREME CLOSE UP reveals the smudged
remnants of her makeup. She stares at herself and then at
the ground as she quietly sobs to herself.

INT. BATHROOM - DUSK

DAHLIA is desperately scrubbing a bloodied bed sheet.

CYNTHIA rapidly knocks the locked door.

CYNTHIA
(anxiously)

Dahlia, have you seen Smokey? I

haven’t seem him for hours.

DAHLIA ignores her. CYNTHIA then begins to knock louder

and harder.

CYNTHIA
(annoyed)

You’ve been in there for so

long, what are you doing in
(MORE)

CYNTHIA (CONT’D)
there! I need to use the
bathroom!

DAHLIA still doesn’t respond and continues scrubbing the

sheet.

CYNTHIA
(worried)

Are you okay? Did something

happen?

CYNTHIA begins rattling the doorknob, growing more

anxious.

CYNTHIA
(panicked)

Dahlia? Can you at least answer

me! Are you okay in there!
Dahlia!

DAHLIA stops trying to get the blood out of the sheet and
instead hesitantly takes off the dish washing gloves she
is wearing. As she removes the gloves, it is revealed that
DAHLIA is slowly transforming into a horrific beast,
starting with her hands. She slowly lifts her hands up to
her to examine them, they are shaking. Suddenly, her
attention is drawn back to her concerned and anxious
sister. She whips her head backwards towards the door.

EXT. OUTDOOR - NIGHT

A still shot of the moon is accompanied with the sounds of

crickets. The peaceful silence is interrupted by a blood-
curdling scream, presumably from CYNTHIA, which echoes
into the night.
