IX. CONCLUSION
After spending five years as an investment banker, he feels tired of urban living.
His stable job allowed him to save enough financial resources. Upon his resignation,
he should incur his bonus and separation pay in purchasing land, constructing a
simple house, and transforming the vast area as agricultural farmland. As a result, he
will enjoy a peaceful rural lifestyle while earning high revenues from the cultivation of
corn.
X. RECOMMENDATION
The inclination of the investment banker towards rural living is understandable
and expected. According to the news article written by Lydia Saad (2021), 48% of
US adults prefer to live in a place outside the city since they want to experience a
more straightforward and healthier lifestyle. Since he was able to work as a
professional for five years, financial resources do not hinder his desire to escape city
life and begin a provincial life.
If he migrates to a rural area, he has to resign from his job. He can use his
savings, bonus, and separation pay to purchase a 50-hectare land in the province.
Purchasing land is a good investment, but he has to use it for residential and
agricultural purposes.
Hectare is a standard unit in measuring land. The former banker and the present
landowner must allocate a hectare to construct his two-story house and use the
remaining hectares for agricultural use. Since the Philippine government plans to use
corn-based ethanol as a fuel alternative, the landowner should mainly plant corn.
However, it is better to plant other fruits and vegetable crops as well.
