The 80 h built-in transmitter consists of 2 housing parts which are screwed together tightly.
The special steel housing (6) contains the electronics as well as the battery housing. The
polyamide cap (7) serves as receiver for the transmitter coil.
The transmitter has been designed for pressures up to 100 bar and may be used in pipelines
from 4“ on. It is installed onto the corresponding pig by means of a flange (1).
In order to take off the plug (2) of the battery housing, the retaining ring (3) has to be
removed with circle pliers (type C for internal retaining rings).
Following removal of the retaining ring, the plug (2) can be carefully removed from the
special steel housing and the batteries can be taken out.
The new batteries should be installed as described in sketch 1.2.
Note:
When looking in the battery housing, the negative pole of the batteries has to be
visible.

1.1 80 h / 26h trailing transmitter V2 (H0151 KG0 / H0180 KG0)
1 5
Type H0 151 KG 0
The 80 h trailing transmitter consists of a polyamide housing with a special steel plug (2)
containing the electronics, the transmitter coil and the battery housing.
It has been designed for pressures up to 100 bar and may be used in pipelines of 3“ to 5“.
The trailing transmitter is attached to the corresponding pig by means of the trailer coupling
ring (1).
In order to protect the trailing transmitter against mechanical damages, it is covered with a
PU-sliding cup (6). The PU-sliding cup is a wear & tear part and has to be renewed, if
necessary.
In order to take off the plug (2) of the battery housing, the holding down bolts (3) have to be
removed.
Following removal of the bolts, the plug (2) can be carefully removed from the housing and
the batteries can be taken out.
The new batteries should be installed as described in sketch 1.2.
Note:
When looking in the battery housing, the negative pole of the batteries has to be
visible.
Check every installed battery for its correct polarity!

1.2 Inserting the batteries
The example is shown on the transmitter type H0171 KG0 but is also applicable for the 80
h transmitter type H0151 KG0.

batteries
Quantity and polarity of the batteries is applicable for the following 80 h transmitters only:
H0171 KG0
H0151 KG0
H0179 KG0
H0180 KG0
Insert only the below mentioned battery type:
Before inserting the plug (2) back into the special steel housing, the quality of the O-ring
(4) has to be checked. The O-ring should not indicate any damage or wear & tear. In case of
any damage the O-ring has to be renewed. Additionally, the O-ring should be greased with a
non-acid lubricant, i.e. Vaseline. Take care that the O-ring is not damaged when closing the
housing (2). The transmitter is now ready for work.
Finally, either the retaining ring (3) for the type H0171 KG0 or the holding down bolts (3)
for the type H0151 KG0 can be installed.

The difference between transmitters with pulsed signals and with continuous signals consists of
the different kind of signal.
Especially in areas with strong noise fields, the transmitter with continuous signals guarantees better
reception conditions.
Attention!! The receiver has to be operated in the „marker“ or „permanent“ mode to correctly
receive the signals of the transmitter with continuous signals!

2. 175 h trailing transmitter
2.1 Construction
With regards to the construction the 175 h trailing transmitter (1) is designed in order to be
pulled by a „simple“ pig. For this purpose two PUR-discs which are slightly smaller in
diameter than the internal diameter of the pipe are mounted. The pig transmitter is made
entirely from polyamide and resists pressures up to 100 bar. It is constructed for pipelines of
8“ up to 20“ and can pass 1.5D bends.

2.2 Battery Change - 175h Trailing Transmitter
Upon unscrewing of the screws (2) the flange (4), the PUR-discs
(5) and the cap (6) can be removed. Two 9-V-batteries (8) type PP3 (9V-EBlock)
(alkaline/lithium) are required. Prior to the assembly the O-ring (7) has to be lightly
greased; take care of right positioning!
When the batteries have been installed, the transmitter will be active immediately!

2.3 Battery Change - 175h Built-in Transmitter
Upon unscrewing of the screws (1) the cap (3) can be removed.
If necessary, first remove the transport protection from the cap.
Carefully pull out the electronics (5) from the housing (8).The required two 9-V-
batteries (6) type PP3 (9V-EBlock) (alkaline/lithium) can now be inserted.
Prior to the assembly the O-ring (4) has to be lightly greased; take care of right
positioning!
When the batteries have been installed, the transmitter will be active immediately!
Please re-insert the transport protection, in case the transmitter should be transported
or stored without batteries.

2.5.1 Technical Data for Transmitter with Continuous Signal:
H0 172 KG0 and H0 173 KG0
The difference between transmitters with pulsed signals and with continuous signals consists of:
a) the different use of batteries, i. e. alkaline batteries for transmitters with pulsed signals and
lithium batteries for transmitter with continuous signals.
b) the different kind of signal.
Especially in areas with strong noise fields, the transmitter with continuous signals guarantees better
reception conditions.
Attention!! The receiver has to be operated in the „marker“ or „permanent“ mode to correctly
receive the signals of the transmitter with continuous signals!

Electronics:
Continuous Signal 2
Pulsed Signal 3
When using transmitters with variable mode, it is possible to adjust the mode to
operation with pulsed signals or to operation with continuous signals.
To adjust the mode, carefully pull out the electronics from the housing. Please also
refer to comments in section “Battery change”. Then remove the insulating tape
(position 1). Under the insulating tape, there is a switch which can be carefully set
into position using a small screw-driver.

Note:
When mounting the battery housing (1) it has to be checked whether the O-rings (4 / 5) can
be used again and if required, those have to be replaced. Additionally the O-rings (4 / 5)
should be slightly greased. Place washer (6) under nut (7). The self-locking nut (7) may be

Pulsed Signal 3
When using transmitters with variable mode, it is possible to adjust the mode to
operation with pulsed signals or to operation with continuous signals.
The difference between transmitters with pulsed signals and with continuous signals consists of the
different kind of signal.
Especially in areas with strong noise fields, transmitters with continuous signals guarantee better
reception conditions. However, the battery life is reduced to a third in comparison to the pulsed
signal transmitter type.
Attention!! The receiver has to be operated in the „marker“ or „permanent“ mode to correctly
