Fantastic Characters - Faces for Element 3D


IMPORTING 3D MODELS
TO ELEMENT 3D

Copy Folder “Fantastic Character heads” found in 3d models folder Paste into VideoCopilot/Documents/Model folder

It is important to do this before you open the After effects project file. This ensures there is no missing links!
THE .AE PROJECT FILE
The composition named 3d Face rig
Is the character template.

This comp can be a male female,


adult or children character

The comp is 1920px X 1080px


this can resized as the scene is 3D scene
The frame rate is currently set to 25 FPS

Character stylings can be adjusted in all of.

The texture compositions have been linked to style controls via expressions, you do not need to open these.
PROJECT LAYERS
Within each composition you can find layers which control styles and movement.
Note that some layers may be locked or hidden to keep the composition tidy (don’t worry about these layers, you don’t see need them.)

The position value of the these

adjusted via the effects
panel, these effects make
it easy to adjust and create
different character styles

The “Style control” layer contains
controllers which adjust the style of your
character. These controls are visible in the
Effects control panel in after effects, when you
click on the style control layer.

The “Style Cntrl layer” also contains controllers which adjust colours
of your characters atttributes.

the layers highlighted above contain controllers which


drive animation. some controllers may appear like guides
beside the character. These controls will not appear in the final
render - as they are set to guide layer.

Notice how the face turns as the


controllers position is adjusted
LIGHTS AND CAMERA
If the position of the point light moves, the
shading on the character will change accordingly

This is a 3D scene, camera can be animated / adjusted.
