1ST SLIDE

- Goodafternoon Everyone, Today, I, Midshipwoman Villarito and Midshipman Zafra are going to
discuss about one of the effects of social class on the aspect of poverty
- Lets start first with poverty, ano ba yung poverty?, so poverty is a condition in which a person or
community lacks mostly in financial aspect to meet their basic needs and minimum standard of
living.

2ND SLIDE

- This poverty are seen or quoted in the hierarchy of social class within the lower class, in which
those people po in the lower class are the one that experience inequalities in the access of social
goods and even opportunities compare to the people in the upper class who has the greatest
wealth and power in the society.
- Sila yung mga taong mahihirap na mababa ang income and mostly walang trabaho kase hindi
nakapagtapos due to lack of financial capacity, also when we talk about poverty it is more than
just a money kung saan they also lack numbers of basic needs tulad ng food, shelter, clothing
and even jobs or opportunities.

3RD SLIDE

- One example po of poverty here in the Philippines is yung mga nasa squatter and slums or highly
populated urban area. You can see clearly yung poverty sa kanila base sa mga tahanan at
sitwasyon nila yung mga nakatira sa ilalim ng tulay, mga pinagtagpi tagping bahay gamit mga
light materials like tarpaulins ganun po, in which they truly are lacking for financial aid. And
some of them is yung mga nasa province that looks forward sa opportunities in migrating to
other cities, eto yung kadalasan natin na naririnig na mag mamaynila or pupunta sa maynila kase
marami raw opportunities na nagbabakasali sa magandang kinabukasan and this becomes a
built in perception of the Filipinos and of course not all of them succeed which is why yung iba is
na stuck and are plunge over poverty. Also, Poverty is all around the world, even the 1st world
countries like United States po has numbers of people who are in the poverty line in which this
exist I think to show equilibrium or balance wherein this stratification or social class benefits the
rich at the expense of the poor and syempre if lahat tayo mayaman sino na yung kukuha ng
basura natin, sino na yung magtatanim ng palay diba?
- So, on the right side of the slide you can see the difference of income between upper, middle
and lower class to which people within the lower class really has the least amount of income
compare to the upper class ofcourse, which somehow lead to poverty kase kulang talaga yung
kinikita nila and yung iba isa kahit mahirap na lalo pang naghihirap kase anak lang ng anak.
- On the next slide you will learn about some of the causes of poverty that will be discussed by
midshipman zafra.
