WHAT SHOULD I LEARN?


POETRY PERFORMANCE
Poetry is an art form where the artist expresses his emotions not by using paint, charcoal, or camera, but
expresses them through words. These words are carefully selected to exhibit clarity and beauty and to
stimulate strong emotions of joy, anger, love, sorrow, and the list goes on. It uses a word’s emotional,
musical, and spatial values that go beyond, its literal meaning to narrate, emphasize, argue, or convince.
These words, combined with movements, tone, volume, and intensity of the delivery, add to artistic value
of the poem. Some poets even make poems out of their emotions picked up from other works of art,
which in turn produce another work of art through poetry (Caslib, Garing & Casaul, 2018).

HOW DO I LEARN?
ACTIVITY 1
Directions: Compose a three-stanza poem about COVID-19. Each stanza must have four lines that
follows a rhyme scheme of your choice. Write your poem in the box below. Also upload a photo (selfie)
of yourself while showing your calligraphy-written artwork. (Avoid plagiarism)

WHAT DID I LEARN?

This asynchronous activity assessed me to express my feelings and emotions


though words in writing a three (3) stanza poem with a calligraphy quote card about
what happened and reminisce when the alarming health crisis began. The poetry
encourages me to enhance my vocabulary as well, along with practicing of its speech
delivery. It also examined my creativity skills in writing through using rhyming words
which is likely to hear in my tone, volume, and intensity. In addition, the calligraphy
quote card familiarizes me to some stroke in writing. I found it enthusiastic while
doing the artwork. On the other hand, the message of my poem pertains on the
COVID-19 pandemic that transformed our lives in a way that we had not expected
which brought difficulties to our health and economy but through having an optimistic
view that opened opportunities for all. Hence, this activity is truly conveying my
feelings and emotions toward the subject.
