FOREWORD

There are many types of marine surveyors. In definition, the term “Marine Surveyor” covers a wide range of work carried out involving
surveys, inspections and investigations aboard all types of ship, e.g., merchant vessels, pleasure craft, offshore structures. Surveys may also
include the commodities being carried by those vessels, i.e., their cargoes, of which they are many. No single marine surveyor has knowledge
of all types of surveys.

Mike has twenty-five years’ experience in hull, machinery and cargo surveying in USA, New Zealand, Fiji and South East Asia. Most of the
experience was gained in Hong Kong, providing a wide range of marine consultancy and surveying services to P&I Clubs, Shipowners, Ship
Managers, Underwriters, Admiralty Lawyers and other Principals. Mike is also a qualified Mediator, being registered both in the UK and
Hong Kong. He is also a Fellow of IMarEST and Fellow of RINA.

As a qualified dispute resolver (QDR) he has successfully concluded several mediations. Mike is a regular contributor of shipping technical
articles to various maritime publications and is currently editor of FLASHLIGHT, the free emailed monthly newsletter distributed to 3,000+
marine surveyors around the world.

More recently Mile has authored a total of 50 distance learning training modules for various distance learning courses in shipping over the
last 10 years for various marine training organisations. He has also written 10 books related to shipping and marine surveying.

A must-do course for those intending to enter the marine surveying


profession with much useful information for experienced surveyors.

CANCELLATION / SUBSTITUTION POLICY


If you are unable to attend, a substitute delegate is welcomed at no additional charge. All bookings carry a 50% liability after a fully completed sales contract has been received by M.I.C.E
Global. An official letter of the cancellation must be received via email or fax 3 weeks prior to the training date in order for the balance of the training fee as a credit to be applied against
another M.I.C.E Global workshop or conference. Cancellation of any training with less than 3 weeks notice prior to the training date carry a 100% liability. M.I.C.E Global reserves the
right to cancel or make any changes to the content and timing of the trainings and course facilitators for reasons beyond its control. If for any reasons M.I.C.E Global decide to amend these
workshops or conferences, M.I.C.E Global is not responsible for covering airfare, hotel, or any other costs incurred by the registrants. In the event that M.I.C.E Global cancel the training,
M.I.C.E Global reserves the right to transfer the booking to another training or to provide a credit of an equivalent amount to another training to be held within the following twelve months.

IDEMNITY: Should for any reason outside the control of M.I.C.E Global, the venue or course facilitators changes, or the training be cancelled due to strikes, riots, terrorism, epidemics,
disasters, extreme weather conditions, or governmental action, M.I.C.E Global shall endeavour to reschedule but the client hereby indemnifies and hold M.I.C.E Global harmless from and
against any and all costs, damages and expenses, including attorney fees, which are incurred by the client. The construction, validity and performance of this Agreement shall be governed
in all respects by the laws of Singapore to the exclusive jurisdiction of whose Courts the Parties hereby agree to submit.
