Aggressive Driving: Driving Aggressively Should be Avoided.

Aggressive driving is a circumstance that we may encounter regularly. The National
Highway Traffic and Safety Administration defines it as "a combination of moving traffic
offenses to endanger other persons or property." It also refers to engaging in reckless behavior
that may result in collisions, injuries, and fatalities. Typical aggressive driving behaviors
include overtaking, speeding, tailgating, running red lights, drunk driving and etc. Aggressive
driving gives rise to the 5 million car accidents that occur each year. Impacts are the leading
cause of death for people aged 3 to 33. Additionally, one of the top 12 causes of fatal crashes
is aggressive driving. As a result, proper discipline and education about safe driving practices
must be followed.
To avoid these incidents, rules for drivers to follow have been implemented. This
benefits not only those inside the vehicles but also people walking along the road. Drivers must
obey speed limits, learn different traffic signs, watch traffic lights, overtake with caution, and
keep a safe car distance. Several accidents occur every day as a result of aggressive driving.
Every year, an estimated 1.3 million people are killed in car crashes. This number of fatalities
should serve as a reminder to motorists that they must exercise caution whenever they drive
vehicles or risk injuring themselves.
It was declared that the State's policy is to protect and safeguard its citizens, notably
passengers and drivers of private and public motor vehicles, from the destruction and great
harm caused by vehicular accidents. To that aim, the State shall pursue a more proactive and
preventive approach to always ensure the safety of passengers and drivers by mandating the
use of seat belt devices by drivers and front-seat passengers of private and public motor
vehicles. The majority of crash fatalities are caused by unrestrained passengers and drivers.
53% of drivers and passengers killed in car accidents in 2009 were not wearing seat belts.
Hence, wearing seat belts is the safest way to avoid death and serious injury in a crash.
Furthermore, The Republic Act 8750: The Seat Belts Use Act of 1999 mandates the installation
and use of seat belt devices in any private motor vehicle. It reduces the danger of death and
serious injury among drivers and passengers, preventing them from being ejected during a
crash. These facts show the importance of this law in preventing accidents and saving lives.
Despite the existence of traffic rules and laws, aggressive driving is widespread. Many
people choose to ignore and violate them. As a result, more and more people's lives are
negatively affected. Being late, being stopped in traffic, or enduring traffic delays are some of
the most typical causes of aggressive driving. Drivers frequently retaliate by speeding, which
can lead to other aggressive driving behaviors such, as tailgating. Yet, this does not imply that
being irresponsible and unaware of the safety of others is considered necessary. Driving laws
were intended to limit risk and save lives.
The evidence shown above shows how dangerous aggressive driving is. Irresponsible
behavior can lead to accidents that cause serious injury or even death. As a result, implementing
regulations is certainly the most important step in educating and disciplining individuals,
especially drivers. To conclude, these rules and regulations demonstrate that accidents do
happen, especially when drivers drive aggressively. Anybody who breaks the law should be
punished by the government. Everyone benefits from the implementation of these rules and
regulations because we all know that there is always a risk whether we ride a bike or walk
along the street. We should also practice greater caution and hold ourselves more responsible
for our actions.
