Reflection 2

My first source is an image that displays a race occurring with people from different countries
going against each other. The photographer captures a close-up shot of the form of each runner
and their driving force to be placed first even capturing a certain runner’s confidence while
running. And Looking back on the photo I realized this race is a team race as there are three
runners from each side fighting to win.

Secondly, I also used an article to gather information on my topic. The title of this article
is"Track & Field" In this article, the writer uses Standard English.

One technique that is Identified in this source is the use of precise detailing. This can be seen
when the writer stated: “Track and field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running,
[1]
jumping, and throwing skills. The name is derived from where the sport takes place, a running
track and a grass field for the throwing and some of the jumping events. Track and field are
categorized under the umbrella sport of athletics, which also includes road running, cross-country
running, and racewalking.
The foot racing events, which include sprints, middle- and long-distance events, racewalking, and
hurdling, are won by the athlete who completes it in the least time. The jumping and throwing events
are won by those who achieve the greatest distance or height. Regular jumping events include the
long jump, triple jump, high jump, and pole vault, while the most common throwing events are the
shot put, javelin, discus, and hammer. There are also "combined events" or "multi events", such as
the pentathlon consisting of five events, the heptathlon consisting of seven events, and the
decathlon consisting of ten events. In these, athletes participate in a combination of track and field
events. Most track and field events are individual sports with a single victor; the most prominent
team events are relay races, which typically feature teams of four. Events are almost exclusively
divided by gender, although both the men's and women's competitions are usually held at the same
venue. Recently, “mixed” relay events have been introduced into meets, whereby two men and two
women make up the four-person team. If a race has too many people to run all at once, preliminary
heats will be run to narrow down the field of participants .”
The writer speaks about the different events of this sport and explains in detail to give the reader
a clearer understanding of exactly the sport of track and field works.

Finally, my third artifact is a YouTube video entitled individual sports (Track & Field Events or
Athletics) MAPEH.In this video, the presenter makes slideshows and images in her discussion of
track and field events, the requirements, and how to participate in the specific events. The
effectiveness of how the presentation is presented is quite simple and easy to understand, Overall
the video is very informative.
