Marking the occasion of India taking over G20
Presidency
INTRODUCTION

India has assumed the Presidency of the G20, an intergovernmental forum of the world’s
major developed and developing economies on December 01, 2022 for a one-year term.
More than 200 G20 meetings will be held at locations across the country during India’s
Presidency period. The G20 Summit will be held in New Delhi on 9-10 September, 2023.

To mark this occasion and to disseminate the information to the younger audiences,
CBSE will be conducting the following year long activities:

I. Student-Enrichment Activities
II. Capacity Building Activities
III. Online Quiz Competition
IV. Activities at the 04 major cities of Chennai, Amritsar, Bhubaneswar and Pune
V. Awareness Activities across the 56 cities in which G20 meetings are scheduled by
the Govt. of India

CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES

I. Student-Enrichment Activities

Aim: To reach out to every student so that they know about G20 and India’s Role

Time Period: January 2023 to February 2024

Mode: Online and Offline

Expression Series

The Competition will be conducted in 04 categories: classes 3 to 5, 6 to 8, 9 to


10 and 11 to 12 and open for CBSE Students. The mode of expression will be
Essays/ Paragraphs, Video, Poem, Story, Drawing/Painting.

CBSE ROs along with the City Coordinators will try to ensure maximum participation
of students involving all the schools at the above said places.

V. Awareness Activities across the 56 cities in which G20 meetings are


scheduled by the Govt. of India

A. Organising Agency

CBSE has Sahodaya School Complexes (SSCs) across the country. The Sahodaya School
Complex is a group of neighborhood schools who voluntarily come together to share
best practices and innovative strategies in various aspects of school education including
curriculum design, evaluation and pedagogy and also in providing support to teachers
by regular capacity building exercises. At present, there are more than 200 active
Sahodaya School Clusters across the country.

SSCs can be roped in to conduct different interschool activities in the cities in which
G20 Meetings have to be convened as mentioned below to create awareness about G20
and buzz about it in the city. The cities where there are no Sahodaya School Complexes,
there City Coordinator/Training Coordinator can arrange for
interschool/collaborative/individual activities for the intended purpose.

F. Mapping of the Cities with the G20 Countries

Aim: To enable students to gain insights on how G20 countries are playing a crucial role
in advancing and supporting the implementation of the global goals.

How: Through the activity/activities designed at the local level, the students will know
about the contributions of the mapped country in the area of the assigned theme of G20
meeting.

G. Guidelines for the conduct of suggestive activities

 The activities have to be conducted before the actual event/ G20 Meeting in the
City.
 While carrying out rallies and other group activities, all safety protocols be
followed.
 The activities should be centred around the theme of the G20 Meeting in the city.

 The schools in the city which are not the part of the Sahodaya School Complex
may also be invited to participate in these activities. Also, where there are less
number of schools in the designated places as indicated in the calendar, the
organising agency will try to rope in the schools from the nearby areas and try to
create awareness.
 Information with regard to G20 may be accessed from the official website of G20
https://www.g20.org/en/
 Maximum participation of the students and other stakeholders can be
encouraged.
 Activities may be planned for different age groups. If age group wise activities are
planned, then activities selected/designed should be appropriate for the
particular age groups.
 Students will study the contributions of the mapped country in the area(s)
related to the theme of the awareness activities assigned.
 The brief write ups on G20 prepared by NCERT for the students of Classes VI to
VIII and Classes IX to XII may be shared with the students to make them aware
about G20.
 A Nodal Officer will be appointed by the concerned Sahodaya School Complex
to coordinate for these activities and information of the same will be shared with
CBSE.
 The details of the activities to be conducted by the concerned Sahodaya School
Complex should be prepared in consultation with the member schools and duly
shared with CBSE along with the proposed dates.
 A report of the activities conducted will be shared with CBSE at the following
