PARTICIPLE CLAUSES

Participle clauses can be made in two ways:

1.- by using –ing participles to replace relative clauses with active verbs.
E.g. People who live with pets are more happy and healthy
People living with pets are more happy and healthy

2.- by using –ed participles to replace relative clauses with passive verbs
E.g. I always buy shoes that have been made of real leather
I always buy shoes made of real leather

These clauses can also be used for emphasizing some information when writing formal
English:
E.g. He is so rich that he can afford buying Ferrari cars
Being so rich he can afford buying Ferrari cars
