PROJECT PROPOSAL

I. Project Information

Project Title: CATERING SERVICES

PROJECT

Project Location: Barangay Poblacion,

Municipality of
Kolambugan, Lanao del
Norte

No. of Beneficiaries: 15 women

Proponent: Riverside Women’s

Organization

Contact Person: Belinda R. Aba

09264072236

Total Project Cost: Php 320,050.00

Target Beneficiaries: The beneficiaries of the project are

the Riverside Women’s Organization
in Kolambugan who are unemployed
and has a meager source of income.
Most of the women have skills in
catering services while agricultural
products will be sourced out from the
local farmers of Kolambugan.
II. Rationale / Background

Food needs to be provided to people of all ages and from all

walks of life. One thing is common to all – the need for food to be
cooked and served well. Thus, we require services that will supply food
whenever and wherever necessary. We believe that quality food is
necessary for life and aids in Human Development which can improve
workers' output and productivity. Therefore, having access to nutritious
food is fundamental.
The purpose of food service is to supply palatable food prepared
under acceptable standards of sanitation, and aesthetically served at a
specified cost. However, these services are valuable because they
provide for the needs of their consumers as well as our source of
employment. It requires a professional approach along with special
skills, knowledge, and vigilance at every stage of food service
operation.
These services are performed by the catering industry which
provides, to varying extents, a substitute for food that one would have
gotten at home. After a week, month, or even a year of preparation
people may tend to forget their speeches, dance, and any other
presentation but one thing they will never forget and will always
remember is the food and we, therefore, believe that catering is the
backbone of any event.
All of these foods are prepared in very large amounts by the
persons who have the expertise to do the Riverside Women’s
Organization of Municipality of Kolambugan. With this concept, they will
not only augment their income but will also increase the income and
demand for agricultural products needed in the catering services since
it will be provided by the local farmers.
In Lanao del Norte especially in Kolambugan, the culturally
diverse inhabitants: Lumads, Muslims, and Christians, respect and
recognize each other’s differences in beliefs and traditions. With this,
catering services also ensure to serve HALAL foods and provide
delectable Maranao native food and delicacies.
The Riverside Women’s Organization will be trained to enhance
its skills and standardize its business operation and become efficient in
catering services. This project will create employment for the
unemployed and increase the value of agricultural products produced
by local farmers. Thus, it needs technical and financial assistance to
make this more prolific and to derive additional income for marginalized
women.
III. Project Objective

The general objective of this project is to provide employment

for women to increase their meager source of income at Riverside
Women’s Organization in Kolambugan.

Specific objectives:

1. To enhance their skills and efficiency in catering services

and business operation
2. To increase the income of the local farmers as the
provider of agricultural products
3. To generate employment and a source of income

IV. Project Description

The project is located in Barangay Poblacion, Kolambugan, a

fourth-class municipality in Lanao del Norte. The project will benefit the
Riverside Women’s Organization which is unemployed and has a
meager source of income.

Poblacion as the center of business and accessible to all.
