DSSC LAUNCHED RCE DAVAO

The college with its foremost goal to realize sustainable development through
international links hosted Regional Center of Expertise Launching and Planning on
Friday with several SUCs, organizations and agencies.
Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, President of the DSSC, shared inspirational remarks on
community empowerment to tackle the three pillars of sustainability, which are the
economy, society, and environment.
The International Affairs and Relations Office of Davao del Sur State College,
spearheaded by Dr. Della Grace G. Bacaltos, who also arranged the occasion,
highlighted the vision and mission of RCE Davao further.
President Augie E. Fuentes, VPAA Dr. Siverlyn Camposano and IARO Head Dr.
Della Grace G. Bacaltos of DSSC along with Junarie Joy M. Tuba of SPAMAST, Dr.
Jesebel R. Besas of DNSC, Jhonnel P. Villegas and Vanessa E. Asaias of DOrSU,
Melchizedek John Banas of UMDC, Ms. Ritz Angelica P. Soriano of HDN and DOST
XI, Dr. Evelyn Gecale and Karen B. Geneston of SMAARRDEC, Ms. Mae Chatto of
OCEANA, Evelyn S. Marcos of Provincial of Davao del Sur, Joey Sem G.
Dalumpines of PIA, Araceli dela Cruz and Estrella Rafil of DENR-ARDEC, Roderick
Aviles of DIDP, and Francis N. Reginio of USEP have signed a joint commitment to
promote Education for Sustainable Development.
The challenge now is to utilize the vast natural resources and reputable services to
build a home for highly competitive human resources who can be developed and
become responsible global citizens through the RCE Davao, which is capable of
offering several opportunities for promoting sustainable education.
With this, their pledge is to communicate best practices in ESD in order to develop
communities of practice in order to fulfill the Sustainable Development Goals.
