Dear Eastside School Administration,

I wanted to express sincere interest in the open position for your Instrumental Music Teacher. I have reviewed the
mission statements that your school provides, and it aligns with my teaching philosophy that music makes community,
which is why I believe I would be a good fit for the job posted. With my current position as Assistant Marching Band
Director at Fort Defiance High School and involvement in community ensembles and educational programs, I apply
with great enthusiasm.

I thrive in a community that values outreach and collaborative opportunities that provides a creative environment to
enhance the inclusivity that the students are a part of. Thus, my commitment and value to Music Education is deeply
based on the belief to advocate for student’s passions in the Music Program which will forward their future endeavors
and involvement in society. It is important to me that all students have the accessible right to participate in Music
Education not only for them to learn but experience.

Alongside my experience with High School band, I dedicate time to strengthen my own personal musicianship by
playing in local community bands/orchestras and overseeing my connections through the James Madison University
ensembles. I believe that by embracing your musicality to your students, you are building a musical connection with
them that can contribute to their own identity. I am committed to the art of musicianship within students and providing
them resources to seek that out.

My other qualifications include managing and overseeing student leadership and executive boards, jump starting Music
Service events in the community, Networking with educators and parents, as well as leading with an energetic and
positive attitude. By using my Music Industry background, I hope to expand the band program and introduce new
opportunities and ideas such as songwriting workshops and clubs, teaching diverse and nontraditional repertoire,
bringing in clinicians, and utilizing the promotional and recruitment aspects to continue to build a welcoming and stable
program for students to experience the fusion of music and community.

I believe with my drive, energy, and focus I will teach students ways to identify, process, and obtain their musical goals
which not only will help them excel as musicians but also blossom and nurture their character development that will
then make them positive contributing members to their community. I hope my website and Resume represent my
