EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 18, S-2018

AN EXECUTIVE ORDER REORGANIZING THE BARANGAY BANGGOT PEACE


AND ORDER COMMITTEE (BPOC) AND PROVIDING FOR ITS ROLE, FUNCTION,
AND APPROPRIATION.
Whereas, threat to peace and order posed by criminality, illegal drugs, insurgency, and subversion requires the
dedicated efforts of all government official and citizens;

Whereas, it is the duty of local governments, the law enforcement agencies, the prosecution services, and
similar institutions of government operating in the locality to assist local chief executives in the proper enforcement of
the laws and the administration of justice;

Whereas, Section 116 of the Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the “Local Government Code of 1991”,
mandates local government units to establish a local peace and order councils and pursuant to Executive Order
Numbered Three Hundred Sixty-Six (E.O. No. 366 of 1996) as amended, the local peace and order committee shall have
the same composition and functions as those prescribed in the said executive order.

Whereas,Sec. 2 of E.O. No 366 provides that every barangay shall organize a Peace and Order Committee to
serve as implementing arm of the City/Municipal Peace and Order Council at the Barangay level.

NOW THEREFORE, I, RENE G. DAYANDANTE, Punong Barangay of Banggot, Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya, by virtue
of the powers vested in me by law, hereby organized the Barangay Peace and Order Committee of this Barangay
composed of the following:

Section 1: COMPOSITION OF BPOC

Members: Hon. Felix P. Alvarez, Comm. Chair. On Peace and Order
Hon. Jeanne Alexandra M. Felipe, SK Chairwoman
Doroteo U. Bedonia, Jr., Lupon Member
Freddie Torres, Chief Tanod
Roger Ramos, B.E.E.S Principal
Virginia Peralta, Public School Teacher
Pastor John Caanawan , Interfaith Representative
Sergio Miranda, Senior Citizen

Section 2: FUNCTIONS. The BPOC shall perform the following:

1. Monitor and coordinate the implementation of peace and order programs and projects
at the barangay level;
2. Serve as an information-gathering mechanism
3. Monitor and check the nefarious activities of criminal elements
4. Identify barangay constituents with strong deviant behavior for referral to appropriate
authorities
5. Maintain continuing dialogue, close coordination and rapport with the higher levels of
the peace and order councils and land enforcement units
6. Formulate plans and recommend such measures which will improve or enhance peace
and order councils and land enforcement units
7. Monitor, coordinate and supervise the operation of all community-based anti-crime
movements within the barangay
8. Make periodic assessment of the prevailing peace and order situation in their respective
areas of responsibility and submit report with appropriate recommendations to the
higher level peace and order council and
9. Perform such functions which may be assigned by higher level peace and order councils.

Section 3. EFFECTIVITY. This Order shall take effect immediately.
