Statement of Purpose

The computer technology has ushered in a revolution that is

unprecedented in its sweep. Its effect on the everyday lives of ordinary
people has been phenomenal. Right from the super satellite control stations
to the grocer’s humble shop, the efficient office and the busy kitchen in the
home this technology is all pervasive, all consuming. This is what makes it
one of the most challenging fields as it not only meets needs but has the
power to create new needs, rules and total environments of its own. The
computer technology has a life, creativity and a vibrancy that is enticing.
My decision to focus on a career in Computer Science was a logical
culmination of my fascination for computers from my childhood.

A natural aptitude for mathematics, analytical ability, capacity for

diligent work and high academic credentials secured me a place in the Sree
Vidyanikethan Engineering College . The curriculum at S.V.E.C exposed
me to the entire gamut of computer and electronic courses thus laying a
strong foundation for both my Hardware and Software fundamentals. My
main areas of interest were software programming, Multimedia. I enjoyed
the courses in Networks and Operating systems. I developed many software
programs in C,C++ and JAVA.

The field of application of technology is what interests me the most. I

want to acquire the learning that will enable me to contribute to the
development of new software, which can improve efficiency, and accuracy
of work in varied spheres. Digital processing is already transforming the
world of communications. My ambition is to work at the forefront of the
technology with the ability to find innovative solutions to the changing
needs.
My academic goal is to earn a Master’s degree, as enrolling first in a
Masters program will enable me to explore my various interests and make a
more informed decision about which specific discipline I will want to study
in depth. As far as long-term plans, I hope to take up a career in computers
where I can indulge my passion and zeal for computers. I realize that
graduation from the right university in the right country with a vast library of
knowledge holds the key to the fulfillment of my goal-to not just be an
engineer who enriches life with knowledge but one who can use knowledge
and his intelligence to enrich the subject that has become his life.

On careful study of your prospectus / website, I have found the

graduate program suits my needs perfectly and that the ongoing research is
in consonance with my interest. I have chosen to pursue graduate study at
your university because by working under the guidance of the distinguished
researchers. I am confident of making original contributions to this field of
computer science. I am fully aware that your curriculum requires that I
summon all my resources and I aver that I have the necessary commitment,
intelligence and stamina to look forward to it all. Thus, I am forwarding my
application for admission into your esteemed university and request you to
