Unit 9 CARNIVAL TIME

1 Warm-up Question - Have all students stand 5 minutes
time up, and ask them a
question — feel free to
get creative! T could ask
anything (How is the
weather? What time is it?
Which superhero wears
the colors red and blue?
What did I have for
breakfast today? etc.).
The student who raises
his or her hand first gets a
chance to answer. If the
answer is wrong, the next
student to raise their hand
gets a chance. If the
answer is right, that
student gets to sit down.
The goal is to not be the
last student standing!
2 Vocabulary Parts of - Hold up each flashcard 10 minutes
(Slide 7-10) body: head, and elicit/ teach the word.

neck, knee, with each ss saying the
shoulder word as he/she passes the
card.
- Play “Show me”, Stick
the set of flashcards on
the board and ask the ss to
say the words. Take the
flashcards down. Say

- As a variation, use mime
gestures instead of words,
or letter by letter
dictation. The ss will hold
up their cards in the same
order

4 Exercise 1 Look, listen - Encourage ss look at the 2 mins

each part for ss to read
aloud.

5 Exercise 2 Write - Invite ss to read the word 5 mins

(Slide 17) in the word bank
- SS then look at the body
parts and then choose the
word to fill in the blank.
- T shows the answer for ss

6 Exercise 3 Follow the - Encourage the children to 5 minutes

line from the start to the
end to know who he/she
is.

about each character.
