4.1 Security Boundaries

Security is one of the major concerns of cloud computing. While storing the data on the cla.

Planning of the Security

Before deploying data or resources on cloud, organization should analyse the following

aspects of the cloud resources.

1. On first step recognize and analyse sensitivity to risk of the resource which is going to

deploy on the cloud.

2. Consider the model of the cloud i.e. laaS, PaaS, and SaaS. These models are

customers to be responsible for the security aspects at the various levels.

3. Have to take in consideration is cloud typelike, public, private or hybrid kind of cloud.

4. Understand the cloud service provider's system about data storage and transfer.

4.1.1 Cloud Security Alliance- CSA

There is a particular model in the cloud which defines boundary between the responsibility
of cloud service provider and the customer. The CSA- Cloud Security Alliance is a stack model

which defines the boundaries between each service model of the cloud and shows the

difference between function units related to each other.

The above figure 4.1 shows the CSA stack model which

service providers are there for the online payment options.

Cloud computing allows us to store any kind of information/data on the service and provide

access to the data/information using the internet connection at any time and from anywhere.
Cloud also provide the security of data by giving different types of recovery a backup

application for retrieving the lost information or data. Some of the data storage applications
are given below.
