CHI-SQUARE GOODNESS OF FIT TEST

A. State the Null hypothesis and Alternative Hypothesis

Null Hypothesis
Ho: There is no significant difference between the observed frequency and the expected frequency.

Alternative Hypothesis
Ha: There is a significant difference between the observed frequency and the expected frequency.

B. Write the result of the study

Table below shows that the Observed Frequencies, N=80, the Expected Frequencies, N=40 and the residual is 20.
Therefore, the difference between the Observed Frequency and the Expected Frequency is 1.

C. Since p-value = 0.000008 < 0.05, we reject the null hypothesis.

D. We conclude that there is a significant difference between the observed frequency and the expected frequency. N=80
= 20.000, p-value > 0.05.

A. State the null hypothesis and Alternative Hypothesis

Null Hypothesis
Ho: There is no significant difference between the observed frequency and the expected frequency.

Alternative Hypothesis
Ha: There is a significant difference between the observed frequency and the expected frequency.

B. Write the result of the study.

The Table below shows the Observed Frequencies, N=65, the Expected Frequencies, N=32.5, and the difference
between the observed and expected frequencies for the 1-plasma and 2-LCD categories.

C. Since p-value = 0.535 >0.05, we accept the null hypothesis

D. Therefore, there is no significant difference between the observed frequency and the expected frequency.
