 TASK 0: Mind map / definition to explain CLIL to children. (23/09/2021)
o Read Cambridge TKT CLIL handbook (introduction).
o Create a mind map with ideas and definition given in class.
o Use them in a creative way to make children understand CLIL.

 TASK 1: Dieter Wolff’s article (Synergies, 2012). (14/10/2021)


o The European Framework for CLIL Teacher Education.
o Have a look at the summary of the article given in class (blackboard) and
elaborate a MIND MAP.
o THE CLIL TEACHER’S COMPETENCES GRID
(Pat Bertaux, Carmel Mary Coonan, María Jesús Frigols-Martín, Peeter Mehisto).
 Prepare a brief MIND MAP.

 TASK 2: MINI CLIL activity (look for a CLIL activity in the web) (21/10/2021)
o Use basic concepts and mind maps from Unit 1 to:
 Check if it has the CLIL qualities (say why).
 Check if it REALLY is a CLIL activity (say why).
 Write a positive/negative review of the activity (120-180 words)

 TASK 3: Communicative Approach and CLIL. (02/11/2021)


o Look at the PowerPoint explained in class about teacher’s role in
communicative contexts.
o Look at the TOP 7 teaching mistakes we noted down in class (blackboard
pictures).
o Choose one mistake, give a class example, say why you chose it and
propose a possible solution.
o Use no more than 200 words.

 TASK 4: Classroom debate: CLIL advantages/disadvantages. (09/11/2021)


o 4.1- Class work:
 Revise Coyle’s PowerPoint: What CLIL is/is not.
 Prepare to be for/against CLIL in a debate with classmates.
 You can also use Do Coyle’s article Content and Language
Integrated Learning. Motivating Learners and Teachers.
o 4.2- Group final task (homework):
 Write a summary of your opponent group defence.
 What did I learn from the opponent group point of view?

 TASK 5: The Roles of Language in CLIL. (11/11/2021)


o Read introduction from Llinares et Al. (2012)
o Choose a linguistic approach and try to understand it in detail.
o ADAPT and explain the approach or a specific aspect of this linguistic
approach FOR CHILDREN in class.
o In pairs, prepare and do a 10m presentation on the chosen aspect.
 TASK 6: Aragonese Curriculum and CLIL. (23/11/2021)
o Look at the different areas in the syllabus for Infant Education.
o Use their objectives and contents and sum them up in English.
o Decide main competences and cognitive verbs to achieve them.
o Elaborate a CLIL mind map including them in the 4Cs from CLIL.
o Present it to your classmates.

Council or social presentation.
 CONTENTS: Practical application. Real environment.
 FORMAT: Slide Presentation. Leaflet or poster presentation.
