Remote Class Supplies Checklist: The table below outlines all of the supplies you need to
facilitate a remote class.

Digital Student Workbooks
Digital workbooks are available for download from the Learning Plan for the
course in the SAFe Community Platform.
NOTE: Remember to upload the course roster prior to the first day of class so the
learners gain access to the Community Platform.
Optional: You can also print a copy for each learner. A workbook PDF and
detailed printing instructions document are available in the in “03 Workbook”
folder of the courseware kit.
This is an optional template for you to customize and use for each remote course
offering. Please read the guidance in the template for details.
Use it throughout the remote course offering to manage groups, the parking lot,
and more.
Remote Group Document Template
This is an optional template for you to customize and use for each remote course
offering. Please read the guidance in the template for details.
Use this throughout the remote course offering to facilitate group discussions
and activities.
Courseware Kit folder contains all handouts and templates to support activities
throughout the class. Each of the handouts and templates contains a set of
instructions describing the purpose, the quantity and how to use these assets.
Groups Arrange learners in groups of four to six for breakout activities. Set the
breakout rooms for learners in the video conferencing software.
Technology support Schedule an enterprise technology support person to be on call during the
course times for troubleshooting.
Remote classroom accessibility Test the link and access to your remote classroom with the co-instructor.
Wi-Fi access Establish a backup plan for yourself and learners in the event you or a
learner loses internet access. Share the phone numbers of yourself, your
co-instructor, and technology support so learners have a backup contact
method.
Microphone and webcam Practice using your interactive whiteboard in the web conferencing
software.
Use for classroom activities. If these are not available, any large writing surface
or whiteboard can be used.
Create a web-based document to capture ideas from the class. (More details
are available in the remote trainer guidance.)
Pens
Name tags are useful for creating and encouraging social learning in the
classroom. You can use specifically designed tags or simply ask participants to
create name tags from sheets of standard paper.
Optional: Full SAFe Configuration (Big Picture) 48in x 60in (120cm x 150cm)
Placing the Big Picture at the front of the room enhances the student
experience.
Displaying the SAFe Implementation Roadmap at the front of the room can be
used as a quick reference and highlights the SAFe implementation journey.
The student workbook contains a link to the SAFe Glossary in English, but the
SAFe Glossary is also available in several other languages.
Facilities Description
Facility room(s) Facilities are large enough for all attendees and provide enough
space for the activities. A separate area for food and dining is
recommended.
Room arrangement Provide a setting where groups of four to six students can sit
together and still view the presentation.
Facility support Get the contact information for facility support personnel to help with
any issues that might arise (heating and cooling, Wi- Fi, projectors,
food service)
Room Confirm room security protocol. If possible, have a process for facility
accessibility/security access before and after hours in case teams stay to continue
collaborating. It is highly recommended to have access to the facility
the day before for setup.
Refreshments and Have contact information for food service. Consider dietary
meal arrangements restrictions.
Projection Connect your device to the projector and test the quality of the
equipment projection prior to the class. Ensure the screen is large enough and
is placed for easy viewing by all students.
Audio system, Test the videos to make sure that the audio plays correctly prior to
microphones, and the class. If you are using a microphone, make sure that it works. If
extra batteries the room is large, include one extra microphone for students'
comments or questions.
Whiteboards Verify availability of whiteboards and their markers and erasers. If
they not available, make sure to have flip charts.
