CSE Summer Workshop, 2011

(workshop conducted under Continuing Education Program, IIT Delhi) The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Delhi, announces one 6-week summer workshop on Digital Systems Design. The workshop is intended for Engineering students who will have completed at least 6 semesters of undergraduate curriculum (strictly before 1st June 2011). The 6 weeks workshop is scheduled to be held from 1 June 2011 to 15 July 2011. The selection of the students for this workshop will be on a competitive basis and preference will be given to students interested in pursuing a Masters or PhD program in a related area. This workshop will be intensive in nature and will involve lectures, laboratory assignments, and finally the students are expected to complete design projects. Balakrishnan Contents Weeks 1-2 Lectures + demonstrations Weeks 3-6 Final project in groups of 2 The students are expected to have completed 6 semesters of their undergraduate curriculum either in Computer Science & Engineering or Electronics Engg or Electrical Engg. To qualify for the embedded system design workshop, students must have completed courses on Computer Architecture or microprocessors AND Digital Electronics. Application Procedure A hardcopy of the filled-in form must be mailed along with a sealed letter of recommendation from an instructor of one of the appropriate courses mentioned above.

Background

Application Fee

There is no application fee. However those who are selected to participate in the workshop are required to submit a demand draft of Rs 5,000 only within one week of notification of selection. This deposit is to guarantee their participation in the workshop. Wait-listed candidates would be selected to fill in the seats vacated by those who do not deposit the fee within the week. The students who deposit the fee but do not show up (or otherwise fail to attend the course) will forfeit the deposit. Those who attend and complete the workshop will receive a refund of the deposit in addition to a certificate of completion. The demand draft should be made payable to Registrar, IIT Delhi. The application deadline is 4th of March 2011. The list of selected candidates will be available on this webpage on the 25th of March 2010 .

Application Deadline Selection Notification

Boarding and Free boarding and lodging at IIT Delhi will be provided to all Lodging selected candidates during the workshop. Stipend & Reward Rules Some stipend may be provided. Two Best project awards will be provided. All selected candidates will receive a certificate of participation. No letters of recommendation for admission to foreign graduate schools will be given based on the workshop. All participants will be required to give an undertaking that they will appear for GATE.
