CONTRACTORS SAFETY RULES P 1 of 2

1 All contractor must comply with rules, signs, limits, procedures as well as all local legislation while working
in the premises.

2 The minimum personal protection equipment (PPE) to work in this premises is safety shoes and safety helmet.
Additional (PPE) such as hearing protectors, safety belt, musk and respirator, gloves, safety glasses, etc. are
also required depending on the location of task undertakes. All (PPE) is to be provided by the contractor
concerned.

3 The plant's Principal Safety Rules are :-

a No smoking in the plant and open area near to chemical, oil and gas tanks. Smoking is permissible in
the canteen.
b No authorisation disposal of hazardous wastes (no disposal is allowed until proper disposal method is
known and approved).
c Follow lock out and tag procedures when required.
d Adhere to Safety Permit Requirement. Example

* Hot work * Confined space entry requirement * Works at elevation * Excavation

* Disabling major safety / electrical equipment, etc.

The penalty for violation of the Safety Rules is eviction and debarment from the company's premises.
The contract may be terminated.

4 The plant's General Safety Rules include but not limited to the following :-

a Use of personal protection equipment.


b Follow safe working procedures.
c No authorised use of fire-fighting equipment.
d Report all incidents, spills and near miss accidents to the EMR
e Fire exist, fire-fighting equipment, electrical appliances / panel and emergency call points and no
blocked passageways.
f Do not use compress air to clean clothing or body.

5 Contractors are not permitted to use equipment or tools belonging to the company unless authorised. It is
suggested that contractors contact the host to ascertain the necessary equipment before coming to the
premises.

6 All chemical to be brought into the premises must be declared to the EMR. The Material Safety Data Sheet
(MSDS) or Chemical Safety Data Sheet of the chemical must be available in order to bring them into the
premises.

7 All waste should be properly identified, segregated and disposed of in accordance to the Environmental
Quality Act. The contractor is responsible for obtaining approval from the Department of Environment.

8 All contractors are responsible for to do the housekeeping of the workplace / area after each job is completed.
