    Session I

    - The 90s Asian crisis, fail of neoclassical approach. The approach was that one
    solution fit all issues. Until then there was only one approach to development.
    - In the 90s Development as freedom: no interest about the individual level of
    development.
    - It was thought that only economics was at the foundation of development
    - In the 2000s institutions started to matter for development. Economic growth: GDP
    - Environmental issues were rarely discussed
    - ODS: first approach as an international community to dev. However it was an
    ethnocentric approach created by developed countries for developing countries.
    - Concept of codependency: when challenges and issues faced by countries are highly
    correlated and dependent on many factors at the same time.
