STATES OF MATTER
I. OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
a. Identify the 3 states of matter.
b. Sort objects by whether they are a solid, a liquid, or a gas.
c. Participate actively in class discussions and activities.
III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Energizer
4. Classroom Management
5. Attendance
6. Short Review
7. Motivation
B. ACTIVITY
The teacher will group students into three (3) and let them perform
certain activities and discussion follows.
C. ANALYSIS
The student will be asked some questions about the said activity. The
following questions are:
Solid: What have you observed as he/she nailed the wood?
Is the wood broken?
Liquid: Were you able to squeeze the bottle?
Why do you think you cannot squeeze the bottle?
Gas: What will happen to the balloon as you pump it?
Why do you think the balloon expands?
D. ABSTRACTION
The teacher will have a short recap of what has been currently
discussed.
E. APPLICATION
With the same group, the teacher will give two activities;
Classifications of objects according to what state of matter it does belong
to and labeling the illustrations according to what changes in the state of
matter it is.
F. ASSESSMENT
The student will have a short quiz about states of matter and changes in
the state of matter.
G.ASSSIGNMENT
The teacher reminds students to study in advance about Methods of Heat
Transfer
