Overview

The team will conduct conduct a whole-day training that will focus on confidence, focus and motivation,
cohesion and embracing change for the members of Knights of the Altar- Our Lady of Sacred Heart
Parish. Four values-based structured learning activities will be facilitated to the participants. These
activities will be facilitated all through-out the day with breaks in between. The whole-day training will
end with the giving of tokens and awarding of certificates.
Rationale
The training program is specially designed for the members of Knights of the Altar- Our Lady of Sacred
Heart Parish in Marigondon, Lapu-lapu City. This training aims to develop confidence, focus and
motivation, cohesion that will enable them to embrace change. The program aims to facilitate learning
among the participants and empower them to more effective in their function as Knights of the Altar.
Objectives
By the end of the program, the team aims the participants:
• To identify their positive qualities and use this as a source of confidence and conviction as they
perform their roles in the parish.
• To develop focus in performing their roles and responsibilities even in the midst of distractions.
• To foster unity and cohesion among the participants
• To be empowered for them to be effective even in the midst of transitions
Moonball
• The aim of the activity is to keep the balls in the air uninterrupted for 8 minutes. This activity will
be done in one big group.
• The participants can only use either their left or right hand, depending on the facilitator’s
command.
• Double-tapping is not allowed. No one can tap the twice or more in a row.
• Everyone should tap the ball within the given timeframe
• If the balls landed on the ground or if someone tapped the balls consecutively the timer will
reset.
• The facilitators may add or subtract the balls being passed on.
• The participants are given 3 tries to accomplish the goal.

Lava Flow
• Participants will need to cross from point A to point B without stepping on the floor.
• They will be provided 20 cardboard platforms for them to be able to cross.
• While crossing, participants are not allowed to lose contact with each other (participants has to
hold each other’s hands) and the platforms.
• If a facilitator saw someone lose contact, participants will need to restart the game and they will
have to surrender 1 platform as a penalty.
• The penalty also applies when someone stepped on the floor.
