BRYAN and are talking in a coffee shop early in the
morning before going to college and they both start talking
about girls

BRYAN
You ready for Harold’s lesson later today, we
editing, aren’t we?

MILES
Yeah, we are, I actually forgot about that.

BRYAN
Did you actually?

MILES
Yeah, I did, forgot he told us that yesterday

BRYAN
What was your production about?

MILES
Oh, mine was to do with what life would be like in
100 years’ time, what about yours?

BRYAN
Mine was to do with how we have evolved from the
1900 to now and what impact older people have on younger going
into the future

MILES
That sounds cool

Miles looks around him for HONEY and ANNA

MILES
So, we goanna talk about you and Anna?

BRYAN
What do you mean? there is nothing happening between
us

MILES
Course there is, you keep looking at her every time
she walks passed you and plus, she looks at you as well

BRYAN
 Okay, I do have a slight crush on Anna okay, but
like what if she doesn’t like me?

MILES
Of course she will like you, you sit next to each
other in class, you talk to each other, so in my head I think
you and Anna will be perfect together

BRYAN
You really think that do you?

MILES
course I do

BRYAN
So, what about you and Honey then?

MILES
Nothing is going to happen between me and Honey,
okay

BRYAN
Yeah, but I thought you liked her though, you guys
used to talk all the time

MILES
Yeah, I did but that was ages ago and I still talk
to her just not as much as I used to

BRYAN
Okay cool. How’s your coffee?

Points to his coffee on the table

MILES
Yeah, its good thanks, how’s yours

BRYAN
I didn’t have a coffee, I had a hot chocolate
instead

MILES
How come you don’t drink coffee then; did you have
it before and not like it or what?

BRYAN
No, it’s just not really been a coffee guy, but I
might be when I get older, because I might like it then but
not now you know
 MILES
Fair point, fair point dude

BRYAN
So, what about work, how’s that going

MILES
Yeah, work is going well thanks, there are some
parts of it that I don’t enjoy and some parts I do enjoy. What
about you?

BRYAN
Work is okay, kind of what to change it though, I
don’t really like the people I work with

MILES
What kind of job you thinking of changing it to?

BRYAN
Not too sure just yet but I have been looking though
at different ones like working in a shop and stuff

MILES
Well I hope you find a job soon because you need you
need the money to take out Anna on a date

BRYAN
Me and Anna are just friends okay, nothing will
happen between us

MILES
I’m just playing with you dude

BRYAN
Cool, for a second there I thought you weren’t

MILES
I’m your friend of course I am joking with you, that
what best mates do

BRYAN

So you goanna get any breakfast

BRYAN
No I had some this morning before I left the house.
You getting any?

MILES
 Nah, don’t really feel that hungry this morning to
be honest

BRYAN
So that means you goanna have a big lunch then
later?

MILES
Yeah probably will do. Ooh look at the time its
already half past eleven

BRYAN
Really wow we been here for quit some time then

MILES
Dude we only been here for half an hour

BRYAN
But you know what I meant though, right?

MILES
Yeah course I did

BRYAN
do You want to hang out after college and do
something?

MILES
Yeah sounds like a good idea

BRYAN
Cool, sounds like a plan

MILES
Nice, well then bet to get going, don’t want to miss

BRYAN

EXT: MILLS MEADOW BANDSTAND – MID DAY

Anna and Honey are hanging out eating their lunch and watching
ducks float by on the river.

HONEY
So, we going to talk about you and Bryan?

ANNA
What about me and Bryan?

HONEY
 You have a crush on him, don’t you?

ANNA
Yes I do, but it’s only a small crush. Plus, why are
we talking about this?

HONEY
Because I always see you two making each other laugh
in class and whenever him and Miles walk past us, you both
look at each other. There has to be something going on

ANNA

There is nothing going on okay, we’re just friends

HONEY
You sure? I could see you both together you know

ANNA

Wow, really?

HONEY
Yeah, you both should be together, I see it, don’t
you?

ANNA
Well kind of yes, but I don’t know what to do or how
to approach him

HONEY
Don’t worry I’m here, so I will tell you everything
you need to know, okay

ANNA
But I’m scared I have never spoken to a boy that I
have a huge crush on

HONEY
probably because you have never had a crush on
anyone before

ANNA
Actually, your wrong. I did have a crush on Billy
from my primary school, but when I told him I liked him he
said he didn’t like me back

HONEY
I know you told me like ages ago

ANNA
Oh yeah I did
 HONEY
See what I am saying. Also I have heard that he
might also have a crush on you as well

ANNA
Really, where did you here that from?

HONEY
Well I wasn’t told, I heard it from a conversation
that was happening that included Bryan and they were talking
about who they had a crush and he said you

ANNA
He might have been joking though, you don’t know for
sure that he does

HONEY
Will you let me finish... what I was going to say
was someone then came up and told me if I was your friend,
which I said you were and then they began to tell me that
Bryan had a crush on you.

ANNA
Oh okay. So he really does like me?

HONEY
Have you not just listened to anything I have just
said? Of course he does and he really means it as well, which
I was told also

ANNA
Okay, so what do we do now?

HONEY
It not we, it you. What do you do now?

ANNA
Tell him that I like him? (saying in a questionable
way)

HONEY
Yes, and if I says he likes you back then see if he
asks you out on a date

ANNA
Okay, I can do that, I think, but what happens if he
says no?

HONEY
He won’t because he likes you

ANNA
 You don’t know that

HONEY
Yes, I do, I literally just told you one of his
friends told me, so now I just told you

ANNA
Oh yeah, so you goanna help me with this?

HONEY
Of course I am, I’m your friend, that what friends
are for

ANNA
Yeah it is

HONEY
So you ready?

ANNA
Ready for what?

HONEY
Oh my GOD…

ANNA
What?

HONEY
Your going to tell Bryan you like him

ANNA
We doing that?

HONEY
Yes, you have to get it out of your system and if he
says no, then it doesn’t matter, but if he says yes then we
can all be happy

ANNA
When you mean we can all be happy, you mean me
right?

HONEY
Yeah that what I mean

ANNA
Okay, cool

HONEY
So you ready to tell him or you want a couple of
seconds to think what your goanna say
 ANNA
yeah, a couple of seconds to myself.

(mumbling to herself) hi Bryan, there is something that I

would like to tell you, I like you. I don’t care if you say no
but I just wanted you to know.

HONEY
You ready?

ANNA
Yeah, let’s do this

INT: town centre - MID AFTERNOON

Both BRYAN and MILES waiting for ANNA and HONEY so that both
Anna and Bryan can say the truth to each other

MILES
So you ready?

BRYAN
Yeah kind of

MILES
Okay, oh he she comes. Hey, Anna how are you?

ANNA
I’m okay

MILES
Cool, I would like you to meet my friend Bryan

ANNA
Hi Bryan, how are you?

BRYAN
Hi Anna, I’m good

PAUSE

ANNA
Bryan, there something I want to tell you

BRYAN
Okay, what is it

ANNA
I like you.

BRYAN
 Um okay. PAUSE. I like you too Anna and ive been
meaning to tell you for a long time but I just didn’t know
when the right time was to do it

HONEY
I told you, didn’t I?

ANNA
(to Honey) yeah (back to Bryan) I more or less feel
the same way, I’ve been meaning to tell you and never found
the right time to do it

MILES
(whispering in Bryans ear) so you goanna ask her out
or what?

BRYAN
Anna, would you like to go out with me?

HONEY
(whispering in Anna’s ear) say yes, say yes

ANNA
Yes, I would love to go out with you

ANNA and MILES

Yesssss!

BRYAN
How about lunch tomorrow then

ANNA
Yeah, sounds like a great idea

BRYAN
Cool see you then.
