ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Alhamdulillah, the industrial training opportunity I had with NAGA DDB Tribal was a great
opportunity for learning and professional development. Therefore, I consider myself a very lucky
individual because I was given the opportunity to be a part of their family. I am also grateful for
the opportunity to meet many wonderful people and professionals who guided me throughout
this training period.
Bearing in mind previous I am using this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude and
special thanks to my supervisor Mrs. Shalimar Ahmad which also my project manager who in
spite of being extraordinarily busy with her duties, took time out to hear, guide and keep me on
the correct path and allowing me to carry out my project at their esteemed organization and
extending during the training.
I express my deepest thanks to Mrs. Shalimar Ahmad, Astro Hub Project Manager as my
supervisor for taking part in useful decision, giving necessary advices, guidance and arranged
all facilities to make life easier. I choose this moment to acknowledge her contribution gratefully.
It is my radiant sentiment to place on record my best regards, deepest sense of gratitude to my
lecturer and supervisor from Kolej Poly-Tech Mara Batu Pahat, Mr Shariff for his careful and
precious guidance which were extremely valuable for my study both theoretically and practically.
Lastly, I would like to thanks to my friend those who work together at NAGA DDB Tribal. Also, a
special thanks to all lecturer of Diploma in Computer Graphic Design that have help me to
complete this study with flying colours. I’m so grateful to my family that always gave me support
and be patience with me during my study. I perceive as this opportunity as a big milestone in my
career development and I will strive to use gained skills and knowledge in the best possible
way.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The purpose of this project is to provide real-world experience that enable students to put
everything they have learned into action. An internship can help students gain skills that can be
applied to future jobs. My memorable and enlightening 4 months industrial training began here
at NAGA DDB Tribal. This internship report details my internship period that I have finished in
NAGA DDB Tribal, under Foetus International, which started on 20th of July, and ends 9th of
November. I have been assigned to work in the marketing department for my employment.
Here, I had learnt how to do proper design of advertising. Also, not forgetting how to meet my
goals and set up a sales template that helps increase interaction with client. I succeed in every
assignment given to me by my managers. Additionally, I am one of marketing team in NAGA
DDB Tribal group, a group which plan the strategy of marketing. Trainees here learnt how to
communicate with people and to manage works also solve a problem when facing any
obstacles. I get a lot of experiences and can prepare successfully for industrial training report.

CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
1.0 INTRODUCTION
The training conducted is based on the concept of learning through the practice of
practicing theories and academic concepts that have been learned in real work
situations. Through Industrial Training students can adapt to the dynamic working
atmosphere and apply the academic knowledge in managing workplace challenges.
Students can also acquire working experiences and develop intellectual knowledge.
Besides that, it can help to build effective interaction and communication capabilities
at all levels. Other than that, to provide students the opportunity to test their interest
in a particular career before permanent commitments are made. Internships will
increase a student’s sense of responsibility and good work habits. The programs will
increase students earning potential upon graduation and build a good moral value
such as responsibility, commitment and trustworthy during the training.
For this industrial training, I was accepted to NAGA DDB Tribal start from 20th July
2022 until 9th November 2022. I was placed in graphic designer units. The units will
manage advertisement and social medias content.

1.2 OBJECTIVE OF INDUSTRIAL TRAINING
Industrial training aims to elevate the student’s knowledge and skills in a specific
profession of their respective fields and at the same time produce graduates who are
credible, creative and proficient. As an industrial training student, I need to know the
objectives of industrial training.
• To link industry and training institutions for placement of students at the work place
for acquisition of practical skills and appropriate work-ethics before entering the
Labor market.
• Gives exposure to students about structural organizations and firms related with role
and responsible in an organization.
• The student will be able instilled with good moral values such as responsibility,
commitment and trustworthy during their training.
• To enhance the ability to improve student’s creativity skills and sharing ideas.

Naga DDB Tribal is part of the Foetus International group of companies, Malaysia’s largest
independent network of communication partners. It was established in 1985. NAGA DDB Tribal
NAGA DDB Tribal is a company that focusing on advertising, digital marketing, branding,
consultancy, storytelling and more.

PROJECT DETAILS
3.0 PROJECT DETAILS
3.1 INTRODUCTION OF PROJECT DETAILS
After I had joined this company, I was put in the same team with many of talented and senior
Graphic Designer, Art Director and Creative Director. So, if we got a job such as creating a paid
advertisement for Clients, we will split the job between us. I will create the design and they will
post it on social medias. There is some work that I had done while I am training at NAGA DDB
Tribal such as posters and advertisement and other thing that related with advertise. Any project
or design that I need to do is on the direction of Encik Mohammad Saiful. I was placed in the
graphic design department.

The scope of this project will be focused in designing and advertising. But in major project that I
had do is designed poster or product templates. This project will be completed using any editing
software that I had preferred such as Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator.
This project enables us as students to get more experiences in real life. Students gaining
knowledge in handling real obstacles that happened in company. Thus, we need to know the
objective of the project.
• To experience and understand real life situations in industrial organizations and their related
environments and accelerating the learning process of how student’s knowledge could be used
in a realistic way.
• Provides a systematic introduction to the ways of industry and developing talent and attitudes.
• Exposes the students to the real career world and accustoms them to an organizational
structure, business operation and administrative functions.

• Students will also develop skills in work ethics, communication, management and others.
Other objective is to provide students the opportunity to test their interest in a particular career
before permanent commitments are made.
Other than that, it is also to develop skills in the application of theory to practical work situations.
The works that I had assigned are related to my course, graphic design. I am getting a lot more
exposure to outside work every time I got new tasks. Besides, I got to develop skills and
techniques directly applicable to my course. I also got to build a good communication skill with
group of workers and learn proper behavior of corporate life in industrial sector.
I also able instilled with good moral values such as responsibility, commitment and trustworthy
during my training here. From my experience training at Zafesha Muar, I got a lot of experiences
and exposure towards graphic designer field. I also got more skills to polish to be a better
graphic designer.

3.4.4 PORTFOLIO
Week 1:
In my first week of the industrial training here, I got exposed of all the advertising done
in here and also all of their workflow. I also got to
see how their works done whether in office or
work from home. In NAGA DDB Tribal for
Astro Hub, I have to work from home every
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I have to
come to the office on Thursday and Friday.
On my first day, I got a task to make a visual for
Astro Cassandra:

Week 2:
In my second week, I have started to get a heavy work. I got task by my senior creative
to make a visual for every weekend that we called elimination posting. I have to make
elimination posting for comedy show called Muzikal Lawak Superstar. After the visual
got approved by clients, the visual will be posted on Astro official Instagram. I also have
to make comment jury visual for Muzikal Lawak superstar on every weekend.

Week 3:
On my third week, I have to make another
visual for elimination posting and comment
jury for Muzikal Lawak superstar.

Week 4:
On fourth week, I got a task to make engagement posting visual for Muzikal Lawak
Superstar. Since client don’t want to use the idea of elimination and jury comments
anymore, so they gave me the chance to work on the visual.
They also gave me a task to make a meme. This meme visual is for blackout day when
almost every city in KL got blacked out.

Week 5:
In week 5, I got a task to make engagement posting visual for Muzikal Lawak Superstar
for week 5 social posting.

Week 6:
On week 6, I got a new task, which is to make a visual for Ceria Popstar Xtra under
Astro Ceria.

Week 7 – Week 10:
On week 7 until week 10, I’ve managed to do a task that appoint by my supervisor to
me. I was assigned to make a Gegar Vaganza visual for Email and Instagram. This is
the works that I have to do in the following week. I also was asked by my supervisor to
make a merchandise for Gegar Vaganza.

Week 11 - 12:
On week 11 and 12, I have appointed by my senior art director to make a Wristband
Tickets for Finale Gegar Vaganza, this takes a two weeks’ time because I have to get
approval by the client and studio first.

Week 13 - 14:
On week 14 and 15, I have to make a merchandie for All Together Now Malaysia. I
have to make a design for stress ball and microphone.

Week 15 - 16: On this final week, I have
to make a six visual adaptation from All
Together Now Malaysia for Host and
Captain. I have to make 3 version for
both Host and Captain which is Vertical,
Horizontal and Square.

OTHER PROJECT/TASKS
I also have to go to some shows for gaining experience and getting ideas for what is going to be
put on the visual, the clients will gave my team a tickets for some of Astro shows, my senior
creative will assign me to watch the show and want me to shares some of the ideas for what is
going to be in the visual later on.

RECOMMENDATION
5.0 RECOMMENDATION
There are so many obstacles that I faced during my internship. One of the common problems is
time management. My biggest problem is sometimes I have to follow the clients time and as a
new comer, I was very new in the environment. Luckily with help of my seniors creative, I
managed to overcome the problems.
It sure takes time to understand the office culture. Since every organizational culture varies from
office to office. Some have a rigid structure while others are flexible. Though organizations are
moving more towards flexibility nowadays, some offices do have some strict policies. Then
again, there are some internal differences too. During my first weeks of socializing struggles,
trying to observe the organizational behaviour is a challenge.
Understanding teamwork is one of the biggest intern problems or internship challenges because
teamwork in the professional sector is very much different than our projects at varsity.
Miscommunication, misinterpretation of the actual objectives, different opinions of team
members are common and vary from that of the project group work I have done.

CONCLUSION
6.0 CONCLUSION
Conclusion of achieving the aims of the training program I can explain here I know more about
NAGA DDB Tribal. I have learnt a lot about graphic design as well as marketing. I am very
thankful towards my supervisor and also my leader for always making sure I’m doing great while
I’m here at NAGA DDB Tribal.
There I have learnt many things and exposed to real life problems. I always got new tasks or
projects by my supervisor for me to apply what I have learnt when I’m in college, also to improve
my skills as the time goes by. I also got to learn how advertising works be done. Because as we
all know, during my diploma year, there was so little thing that I have learnt through online class.
So, I lacked of experience on how advertising industry actually works.
Throughout my internship, I could understand more about the definition of graphic design and
prepare myself to become a responsible and innovative designer in future. Along my training
period, I realize that observation is a main element to find out the root cause of a problem. Not
only for my project but daily activities too. During my project, I cooperate with my colleagues to
determine the problems.
