– money of Gracia
Total money = 1,720

Activity 1.2.

1. Solution:
This problem can be solved through simplification and deduction.
The mother-in-law of the wife of Al is obviously the mother of Al. The mother of Al is the sister-in-law of
the sister of the wife of Al which means that the mother of Al married the brother of the wife of Al. The
second sentence in the statement of the problem further establishes the preceding conclusion. The
brother-in-law of Al is the brother of the wife of Al. The step-father of the sister-inlaw of the wife of Al is
the step-father of the sister of Al and Al himself. The step:father of Al and his sister is the brother of the
wife of Al. Confirmed. The mother of Al is married to the brother of the wife of Al.

2. Solution:

This problem requires imagination and creativity. You can remove one candle from the cake, light it, and
then use it to light the other candles before returning it to its place in the cake or you can remove all five
candles, put their wicks close to one another, and light them up together and then put them back in
their places in the candle.

Lesson 2:

Activity 2.2

1. In my own opinion:

My first thought might be to get onto the rowboat, lift its anchor, and row it to shore.

But then I remember two lessons in Earth Science. First, when thunder and lightning

occur at the same time, the thunderstorm is very near your location. Second, lightning

strikes the highest projection at sea; and it you get onto the boat, you will be IT. My

best option is to simply swim to shore and find shelter there.

QUIZ#3
