Issues/Gaps/Needs
The following are the prevailing issues/ gaps/ needs in the implementation of the 8- Week Learning
Recovery Curriculum.

A. On relevant Curriculum

Full Intervention

This graph depicts the consolidated reports of the Comprehensive Rapid Literacy Assessment for
Grades 1-3 that provides the percentage of learners who need full refresher. In Mother Tongue there is
40%, Filipino with 42% and English with 19%.

Full Intervention

The graph shows the results of the Quick Count for learners who need Full Intervention and it was
found out that in Grade 1, there is 29%, Grade 2 with 37%, and Grade 3 with 41% which means that all
Grade levels demand supervision and instructions in numeracy.

B. Education Services/ Facilities


The following are the gaps, issues and needs identified from the delivery of Education Services
and Facilities in the implementation of the 8- Week Learning Recovery Curriculum.
 Lack of Instructional Materials to support instruction
 Issues in Prioritization of Funds for the Improvement of Education services and facilities
 Insufficient funds for training of teachers
 Some schools still do not have Information, Communication Technology (ICT) laboratories
 Ratio for Learner – Computer falls short with the population in schools
 Schools from far flung areas still do not have access with internet connection despite availability
of facilities
 There is no budget allocation and fast action for repairs of computers and other equipment
C. Learner Well-Being
The following are issues that are being addressed with the learners’ well- being:
 Low emotional and mental readiness
 There are reported severely wasted learners in schools amid intensified health and nutritional
programs
 High number of Absenteeism in some schools
 Adaptive learning issues of learners as effect of transitioning to full in- persons classes

D. Teacher Support
Amid capacity building programs and other support services for teachers, the following are still
issues that need to be addressed:
 Prioritization of multiple assessments and process of downloading of submission
 Adaptive issues of teachers with the reorientation of full in- persons classes
 Insufficient funds for Instructional Materials
 Lack of Competencies of some teachers in Information, Communication Technology (ICT)
 Lack of enhancement of Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) of Teachers
 Limited time of monitoring of school heads in curriculum implementation of teachers
