UNIT 1: FAMILY CHORES

Lesson 1.9: Focus Review 1

I. OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, Ss are able to:
1. Knowledge
- Vocabulary: revise words related to household chores
- Grammar: review Present Simple and Present Continuous tenses, so and such
2. Core competences
a. General competencies: 
Develop collaboration skills in the 6Cs of the 21st century framework: working in pairs and in teams
b. Specific competencies: 
Improve communicative competence related to the use of language (vocabulary, phonetics, grammar)
● For a language lesson: Ss are expected to use vocabulary, grammar of the unit, do the tasks assigned in the
textbook.
● For a skills lesson: Ss are expected to write a short personal email. T gives Ss pre-test practice listening skill.

- Being hard-working and attentive in class
- Have a positive attitude towards the lesson

weekend?
Linh: Yes, I’m flying to Hồ Chí Minh city to see my aunt.
But I’m a bit worried.
Thuc: Worried? Why?
Linh: My house is a mess. I’ve been so busy at work I
haven’t had time to clean it. My husband can’t find any
clean shirts. I haven’t ironed them.
Thuc: Oh. Linh: I asked my daughter to clean the bathroom
and toilets, wash the car, and clean the windows.
Thuc: Did she do it?
Linh: No, she is studying for her exams, so she doesn’t
have time. Thuc: What about your son? Can he help you?
