Lesson Plan for November 14th, 2022 Woodwind Techniques.

Overall Objective: play and count sixteenth notes, eighth notes, quarter notes on F, G, A in the
context of page 11 in Habits of Musicianship “Mirror”.

Time Objective Procedure

3min Introduce Objective and Fruit


Rhythms. - Teacher will introduce watermelon=16th,
Apple=8th, and Pear=quarter
- Students and Teachers will say/count fruit
rhythm through pg 11 HoM.
- Repeat again using tonguing technique
WITH fruit rhythm.

3 min Review Notes for F, G, A - Section off class into 3 groups, students will
play an assigned note by group when
instructed to check for individuals.
- Sing Exercise once with pitches in mind
(Don’t forget the Rit…)!!!

2 min Play/Execute Exercise - Teacher will demonstrate/play first few


measures with articulation to establish tempo
- Whole group will play exercise once
- Teacher will provide feedback, Students will
Play again if needed.

1 min Assessment - Ask for one of the 3 groups to stand up and


play-Recital Style (Announce piece, composer,
posture included)
- Student group can decide as a group their own
tempo.
