theme on Industry- Institute Linkage organized by C. T. Bora College, Shirur, Pune in
association with Ranjangaon Industry Association (RIA), on 9–10, Feb. 2023. It will be an
excellent platform to exchange information about NEP 2020 and industry-institute linkage.

Shirur (Ghodnadi) at Glance:
Shirur (Ghodnadi) is situated on Pune- Ahmednagar highway(65 kms away from Pune and
50 kms from Ahmednagar) is having a potential of being an interesting place of tourist
attraction. This is well reflected by various places of socio-religious and geological
interests,namely, lord Ramlinga (a pious Shiva shrine of Great respect, 3 kms away),
Mahaganapati (One of the Astvinayakas at Ranjangaon, 18kms away), Ralegan Siddhi (First
Model Village by Padmashree Annasaheb Hajare, 15 kms away) and Nighoj (a breath-taking
massive bed of magnificient pot holes are the largest in ASIA, 25 kms away).
About the College:
Chandmal Tarachand Bora Arts, Commerce and Science College, Shirur, is affiliated to the
Savitribai Phule Pune University. It was established in 1968 by Shirur Shikshan Prasarak
Mandal, with the primary aim of providing quality higher education to the educationally and
socially backward local community.
The mission of the college is to produce quality human resource that will contribute to the
national growth in different ways. College is bestowed with the Schemes like DST FIST and
DBT STAR College. College is honored by state government for preparation of Public
Biodiversity Register (PBR).The College has been Re-accredited by NAAC, Bangalore with
‘B++’ Grade.
The College offers 46 undergraduate and post graduate courses in Arts, Commerce and
science. It has six research centers with a good number of patents, research papers and
research scholars. The college provides excellent infrastructure and learning resources to
achieve its mission of quality education. It has a spacious and beautiful campus with all
basic amenities required for academic pursuit. It has a very good library and sophisticated
laboratories.
The college has several extension and outreach programs which are integrated with
academic curricula. The college also has strong links and MOUs with the industrial and
business establishments in the surrounding regions.

Workshop in Nutshell:NEP-2020
This National Education Policy envisions an education system rooted in Indian
ethos that contributes directly to transforming India, that is Bharat, sustainably into
an equitable and vibrant knowledge society, by providing high-quality education to
all, and thereby making India a global knowledge superpower. The Policy envisages
that the curriculum and pedagogy of our institutions must develop among the
students a deep sense of respect towards the Fundamental Duties and Constitutional
values, bonding with one’s country, and a conscious awareness of one’s roles and
responsibilities in a changing world. This workshop will give golden opportunity to
teachers to interact with Scientists and Industrialists. It also comprise visits to the
multinational companies like LG, Whirlpool, Wheels India, ITC, etc. at
Ranjangaon Five star MIDC, Shirur, Dist:Pune. A panel discussion with the
industrial experts will definitely orient the teachers to get clear perspective towards
the NEP-2020.
Industry - Institute linkage
The interaction between institute and industry builds the spirit of team work among
students and faculty in the best possible way to sustain the socio-economic growth
of the country. The aim is to impart professional education and make the students
industry-ready by providing exposure to current industrial practices through
internships, workshops, training program, guest lectures etc.
Ranjangaon MIDC having Five star status is situated near the College (12 kms from
Shirur) which enhances the socio-economic status of the society. Multinational
Industries are tied up with active Linkages and MOU’s with the college due to
which students are getting jobs through Campus drive.
