Mang Deolito's boss thought of promoting him, but he had to pass a qualifying exam first.

Due to
financial problems, his parents were unable to send him to school. Despite his desire to attend
school, he was forced to work at an early age to support his younger siblings by selling their wares
and working as a kargador. He asked his wife to write the answers for him during the exam
because he couldn't read or write.

This study taught me that poverty makes it difficult for individuals to achieve their goals.
We should not take education for granted because it is the most potent weapon a
human can possess; without it, we are nothing. Looking back on this instance, we can
see Mang Deolito's struggles with how education deprivation may affect him in the
future.
